  1. I've heard that the army system is a rather big resource hog and I''m wondering if heliohoost can handle it.

    co.cc domain

So... Is this issue gonna be fixed anytime soon? I still can't see it and apparently neither some friends of mine too.. For some reason though, google was able to pick it up and I guess the googlebot was able to view it. WHY not me? Dns issues? (update) I just did a check on it and got wierd results: Parent Parent Zone The calculated parent zone for your domain is co.cc. Parent NS records The parent zone DNS server a5.nstld.com. says that your DNS are: NS2.co.cc. [Glue: 222.122.6.21] [TTL: 172800] NS1.co.cc. [Glue: 222.122.6.20] [TTL: 172800] TLD Parent Check WARNING: Looks like the parent servers do not have information for your TLD when asked. This is ok but can be confusing. Your nameservers are listed Good. The parent server a5.nstld.com. has your nameservers listed. This is a must if you want to be found as anyone that does not know your DNS servers will first ask the parent nameservers. Parent sent glue Good. The parent nameserver sent GLUE, meaning he sent your nameservers as well as the IPs of all of your nameservers. Glue records are A records that are associated with NS records to provide bootstrapping information to the nameserver.(see RFC 1912 section 2.3). DNS servers have A records All your DNS servers have A records at the zone parent servers. A records are required for your hostnames to ensure that other DNS servers can reach your DNS servers. NS Your NS records Your DNS servers return the following NS records: NS2.co.cc.: NP NS1.co.cc.: NP Open DNS servers All of your nameservers don't accept recursive queries. This is very good, since can cause problems (anyone could use them) and can cause Denial of Service attacks. Mismatched glue All the glues sent by parent zone name servers are identical to the A records present in your DNS servers. NS A records at nameservers Your nameservers do include A records when they are asked for your NS records. This ensures that your DNS servers know the A records of all your NS records. All nameservers report identical NS records The NS records at all your nameservers are identical. All nameservers respond The following nameservers did not respond to my query: NS2.co.cc. NS1.co.cc. . Nameserver name validity All of the NS records that your nameservers report seem valid hostnames. Number of nameservers You have 2 nameservers. You must have at least 2 nameservers and no more than 7. Lame nameservers All the nameservers listed at the parent servers answer authoritatively for your domain. Missing (stealth) nameservers All of your nameservers are listed at the parent zone servers. Missing (stealth) nameservers 2 I have detected 2 stealth nameservers: NS2.co.cc. NS1.co.cc. . These are listed in the parent zone nameservers but are missing in your nameservers No CNAMEs for domain There are no CNAMEs for turoksite.co.cc.. RFC1912 2.4 and RFC2181 10.3 state that there should be no CNAMEs if an NS (or any other) record is present. Nameservers on separate class C's You have nameservers on different Class C IP ranges. This is a must if you want to be found in the case of outage, or even worst, problems! All NS IPs public All of your NS records appear to use public IPs. TCP Allowed I cannot test to see if your nameservers accept all TCP connections, because I am not able to get the Ip addresses of your nameservers SOA Your SOA records Your DNS servers return the following SOA records: NS2.co.cc.: NP NS1.co.cc.: NP All same SOA I can't test your SOA records as I don't have it! Same Serial Number I can't test your SOA serials as I don't have them! SOA Primary NS I can't test your SOA primary NS as I don't have them! Hostmaster Email I can't test the hostmaster email address as I don't have them! Serial Format Since I haven't found your SOA records or your SOA serial number, I can't perform this check! REFRESH Since I haven't found your SOA records or your SOA refresh value, I can't perform this check! RETRY Since I haven't found your SOA records or your SOA retry value, I can't perform this check! EXPIRE Since I haven't found your SOA records or your SOA expire value, I can't perform this check! Default TTL Since I haven't found your SOA records or your SOA Default TTL value, I can't perform this check! MX Your MX records Your DNS servers return the following MX records: NS2.co.cc.: NP NS1.co.cc.: NP Multiple MX records It seems you don't have MX records. This means that all the emails sent to your domain will be sent to the A record of your domain (if present), accordingly to RFC 2821 section "5. Address Resolution and Mail Handling". Invalid characters I don't have MX records to check All MX IPs public Your NS don't return their IPs when looking explicitly for MX records. MX records are not CNAMEs I don't have MX records to check MX A lookups have no CNAMEs I don't have MX records to check MX is host name, not IP I don't have MX records to check Differing MX-A records I don't have MX records to check Duplicate MX records I don't have MX records to check Reverse DNS entries for MX records I don't have MX records to check MAIL Connect to mail servers I don't have mailservers to check. Mail server host name in greeting I have no mail servers to check Acceptance of NULL <> sender I have no mail servers to check Acceptance of postmaster address I have no mail servers to check Acceptance of abuse address I have no mail servers to check Acceptance of domain literals I have no mail servers to check Open relay test I have no mail servers to check SPF record You don't have a SPF record for the domain turoksite.co.cc., meaning that you are not using the protection given from this kind of technology. This is only a warning, but please consider in implementing it! I dont know it says ns1.co.cc but I checked back and it says I have my ns at heliohost so whats going on??? does this site have cname? rather do the domain thing that way as dns is infuriating me.
  3. My issue revolves around co.cc domains. others (just one or two) can view my website using the co.cc domain i use but I can't. what's the deal? thing is, I have another host. That host also uses one of my domains from co.cc but the domain there works for everyone and for me. with heliohost however, only one or two (confirmed) were able to view my site and as stated earlier: I can't. Is it the co.cc services or is it heliohost fault?

    co.cc domain

Well... Should I get a new domain and see if it turns out different..... otherwise it's because of co.cc or heliohost's issue..... Why me...

    JIRC

prefer something more.... simple. I'll try it though.

    co.cc domain

Is opendns the only option now? maybe I should get opera and see if then will it show...
  7. IPB people! Never used smf though, anyone tell me where to get one? seriously though Invision power board FTW. If you need one I could get you one. I would not however recommend phpbb.... its related to the "mess in washington"
  8. Media player classic from K-lite mega codec package for EVERYTHING. vlc as secondary should mpc have an error (only once it had a problem).

    co.cc domain

Your site looks fine to me. Are you able to go to your site through the heliohost domain here? http://turokzone.heliohost.org/ Yeah. Why?
  10. you mean that ookimmairou or something like that? You own teh domain?
  11. laozing

    co.cc domain

LOL! No I didn't hack your site. And I don't think it has anything to do with the browser your using. I think it's a dns issue but I don't know what kind nor do I understand it. Hey Wizard, try this url and see if it works for you? http://turoksite.co.cc BTW how is my site? looks decent? what about the forum? I'm going to change the red colour on the site to blue to compliment the forum colour. Is it an OS system on my part? Or should I go to opendns website and have the ns from co.cc directed to there then have opendns direct it to heliohost so i can see it at last. is that what i need to do?

    JIRC

Am I able to use JIRC here? and setup a server for it?
  13. laozing

    co.cc domain

WHAT!? Works for you did it or did you hack my account? I use IE8 and Firefox I don't get it............. What am I doing wrong? I have a co.cc domain elsewhere on a different host (it's temporary) and it works just fine over there for me anyways.... Do I have firefox configured bad? All I can say is what can I do about it? I would like to see it work from my side......
  14. Don't use smf use IPB (Invision Power Board). It's easier and looks better too. Plus the setup is easier and you can mods it like crazy using stuff from invisionize. that is my opinion however. I can help you obtain IPB if that will help as I dislike phpbb....
  15. Say like... Well I really can't tell... Things like "when" are not as predictable as it used to be... My best estimate is to like say in 3 months time... However, for all I know it could be not until next year, right now it's unpredictable but 3 months at most. Really? Well I'm sure you can request more space and bandwidth WHEN and IF your forum becomes that big. I personally do not believe any forum will grow to use that much space and bandwidth in a mere 3 months' worth of time... yeah well I would think that too if not 4 years ago when I had a website hosted by freewebs with invisionfree for a forum. One month. I expected only 10-15 to join but instead I get 92 total at end of the month. What I learned then was that the internet was unpredictable..... Am I able to request it when the time comes though?

    co.cc domain

That's the one I'm using and it's supposed to be ns1.heliohost.org ns2.heliohost.org right? Now... Do I use the park domain or addon option? Btw turoksite.co.cc Used IE 8 and Firefox and well it can't load.....
  17. laozing

    co.cc domain

So ummm.... how do I set it up? parked domain? I'm using that. and at co.cc do I use name servers/first option (easy setup) or go for zone records like CNAME or A? Am using the first option which is dns and its been two days and all i see on my firefox is a page load error saying it can't access... What do I do?
  18. Say like... Well I really can't tell... Things like "when" are not as predictable as it used to be... My best estimate is to like say in 3 months time... However, for all I know it could be not until next year, right now it's unpredictable but 3 months at most.
  19. When the site becomes popular, IPB might be a bandwidth hog. I see most of my disk usage coming from the forum.... Right now it's not necessary, but in the future I would like to know if increased Bandwidth and space be possible.
  20. It would really be nice if the bandwidth could be increased to10-20 gbs and the space u to 1 gb. I know thats asking far too much but is there any way? would having your ads on my site help the matter?
  21. you talking about fantastico??? Not interested in Phpbb....
  22. I just purchased my lifetime license for my invision power board and justed downloaded it for installment and I was wondering if IPB is compatible with heliohost. Is it? am I able to install it on the server? Is there any feature that is disabled that I should know about? Would lov to know soon, thx.
