Nobody has not hacked your site. It was the php that went down. More info at http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=4040
-
Did you try to import your database from phpmyadmin or from cpanel?
-
Djbob may give you a dedicated ip if you need the ssl (https://yourdomain.tld).
-
I have script say me to change .htaccess
and say me :
Note: For subdomain URLs to work, your server will need to be running Apache and have Wildcard DNS enabled. If you are unsure if your server meets these requirements, contact your hosting provider.
You can set up your subdomains in your cpanel. You don't need to edit manually the .htaccess file.

This is a known problem. Please wait for djbob.

Okay, ignoring why what you did is wrong... why's it matter? Do you have an issue with your website? If not, who cares if you can't get a ping?
I'm also having problems to acces my site. I have flushed my dns cache. However Google has last accessed my site on 6th January. Also I noticed that my public_html folder has a permission of 700, but I changed it back to 755. Is this normal? Should all the system folders (etc,php,mail...) have a permission of 755?
-
Same here. However Google was able to access my site at the end of December. Is it possible that my isp has dns-cache problems? My isp's proxy server still gives this for my co.cc domain:
504 Gateway TimeoutThe following error occurred:
(code=DNS_TIMEOUT) A DNS lookup error occurred because the request timed out during the lookup.

The email contains only your login details. You can start using your site after djbob has activated it.

Are you a new user to HelioHost ? If yes, it means that djbob hasn't activated your account yet.

I recently signed up for a new account to host www.chaddiller.com which I already own. I changed my DNS to point to ns1.helionet.org and ns2.helionet.org. When I try to go to www.chaddiller.com it gets redirected to www.helionet.org. When I do a DNS check it appears to make it to your servers and then redirect me. If I try www.chaddiller.com/cpanel that works so I'm a little confused. If there's something I need to change in cpanel than I apologize but it's not very straight forward.
Thanks.
Use ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org as your dns-servers.
"I changed my DNS to point to ns1.helionet.org and ns2.helionet.org" DNS Check makes it to 65.19.143.4 before being redirected to http://helionet.org/index. My cPanel says the shared ip is 65.19.143.3. I don't think it's on my end.
I made a mistake in my last posts. My dns is set correctly to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org however my problem still exists. Sorry for the confusion but my settings are correct and my problem is not resolved.
Your domain's current nameservers are:
Name Servers:
dns1.name-services.com
dns2.name-services.com
dns3.name-services.com
dns4.name-services.com
dns5.name-services.com
Try to change them to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org You should contact your domain's registrar if you can't change the nameservers.

We at Heliohost love downtime.

The /usr partition is currently using 100% of its disk space. Could someone fix that? Also my co.cc domain is not working. My isp's proxy server gives this when i try to visit my site:
504 Gateway TimeoutThe following error occurred:
(code=DNS_TIMEOUT) A DNS lookup error occurred because the request timed out during the lookup.
-
Name server changes may take up to 48 hours to update throughout the Internet.
Will this fix itself??
Yes, it will. It's the dns propagation that I was talking in my previvous message.
-
Start by asking djbob for a dedicated IP adress, so you can then add your ssl-key in your cpanel. Then use the password directory feature in the cpanel to limit the acces to your proxy. Remember that your proxy must meet the rules in the TOS.

My site has been down for a very long time and i'm not happy with this Customer Service, I need my site up 24/7!!
My users are going crazy, i'm afraid i am switching host.
If you want me to fill in a User Feedback form I would be happy to tell you my experience
Your site is currently working. And please look at this topic: http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?s=...ost&p=40451

When did you create your co.cc domain? The dns propagation needs atleast 24 hours before the domain starts working correctly.
-
My co.cc domain isn't working too. Should I flush the dns cache (how to do it in Linux)? Or should I just wait as it seems that here were some nameserver issues with heliHost's nameserver (nobody's domain using HelioHost wasn't working at the beginning of this week) ?
My isp's proxy server gives this for my domain:
504 Gateway TimeoutThe following error occurred:
A DNS lookup error occurred because the request timed out during the lookup. My co.cc domain is using ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org as its nameservers.

Yea it seems to be running allot smoother today and I've been checking the server status and the server load has been staying really low. Djbob has definetly been around in silence working on the server, no doubt. Thanks djbob!
Byron
The kernel of the server is rebuilt on Dec 24 2008 22:10:30 (see http://www.heliohost.org/phpinfo.php ). Thank you very much djbob.
Ps. Merry Christmas to every one and happy new year.

Publish your site from Microsoft Expression Web.
I've tried and tried. I can do it in FTP, but I can't get it to publish in HTTP with Frontpage Extensions. What URL should I use?
Have you activated the Frontpage server extensions in your cpanel? The url is (with http) the one you used in the signup.

i set up a new account and got the mail on 4.12. but until now i couldn't log in with my username and pass and also the "send me new pass" is not workin. the domain is kawauzzz.heliohost.org. please check my status.
thx
Petzi
Your domain is working. Try to login to your cpanel from http://kawauzzz.heliohost.org/cpanel

So I heard with .co.cc it would work if you typed in www.theatopsite.heliohost.co.cc/g/index.php but it doesn't - if I type that in it just takes me to my homepage - www.theatopsite.co.cc/index.html.
I'm pretty sure this won't work with domain forwarding but will it work with DNS or Zone Records. If so how do I configure them?
Any help would be great!

EDIT: Corrected a spelling mistake and added a few more bits of info.
Login to co.cc and click on manage domain. Then use the dns option and use ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org as your dns-servers.

Guys,
How long will it take? I realize that the update to the new server takes a lot of time. I just wanted to know about how long (ballpark) it will be until I can access the free site. I recieved my activation email on 12/5/08.
Thanks again for your help.
Please be patient (only djbob can activate your account).

Hello.
I've received an email from godaddy.com, saying that as the domain owner registered in godaddy.com
I've to review/update contact data under registration annually.
But I don't have the login name and password to access godaddy.com
Should I just ignore the email?
*Please let me know if my question are not clear.
Are you talking about jcxvyc.com ? If yes, wait for djbob to read this topic..

Remember, djbob is last seen on 17th January 2009. I don't think that you can use ssl to access your database.
