  1. Amazing, what happens now?

I got less knowledge in server setup.

But rationally, that would means our dear Stevie finally has been successfully setup together with Apache, cPanel, MySQL, etc that is needed to run Helio server.

Oh no no, I understand that much, I was just wondering what djbob's next steps were.

  2. I would definitely be interested in doing this, I'd love to help you out since I love this hosting. You are better than all the other free hosts out there.

  3. I also use pidgin on linux, and aim on windows, but I prefer not to use windows that much. AIM is evil though because it kills Vista. Their advertising program they force you to install when you install AIM kills your internet and messes with some other things (like people on your lan can't connect to your PC anymore) but you can uninstall the viewsomething player right after you install to avoid this. But I hate using programs that force other [bleeped!] (especially evil programs) to be installed.

  4. As of right now, I've still got Dial-up, so I guess that doesn't work.

    ...You poor poor soul.

@Trippin: You can get Halo for PC. Halo 1 and 2 are out, 'cept Halo 2 requires Vista. <_<

I knew halo 1 was out, and I have Vista so I could get halo 2.

But I don't know if they'd really be worth it since I'm no so much into playing the singleplayer missions. I buy games JUST for the online versions.

  5. I personally love Boggle. It's similar to scrabble in the fact that there is a big mental challenge, and a small luck factor too. We've had our game of Boggle for so long that we've lost the instructions so I don't know how it's supposed to be played correctly, so we just go for the normal three minutes, and then call out the words that we wrote down, if anyone has the same word you cross it off your lists, then whoever has the most words leftover wins that round.

Sometimes if we're feeling competitive we add up all the words from all the rounds we played and whoever had the most wins that day.

  6. Well I can't say much about Crysis, I played the demo and it was definitely fun, but my computer just won't handle the graphics very well. It still plays fine on lower settings but I can't give a full opinion about it.

Call of Duty 4 is probably the most fun online game I've played in a long time. I never was into any of the other cod games, so I guess I can't be called a fanatic. And I am all PC gamer. So I've never played the Halo series, except for at friends houses. But cod4 is alot of fun, although I think the single player was a bit short. I just like cod4 because it's all modern guns so to me it's more fun. I'm tired of all the old war games. It makes me sad cod5 is going to be wwII. But I don't think you'll regret it, especially if you will play it online.

  7. For building websites I use RapidPHP. It's a great editor and supports most of the major web programming languages. I personally can't use DreamWeaver though.

And for making scripts, I use php and mysql. But that's just because I haven't learned any other languages.

  8. You know I really haven't had many problems with Vista. Every program or game i've tried to run on it either worked out of the box, or I was able to find a fix for it. I DO hate the memory usage, but it really hasn't been a problem for me. There are alot of little things in Vista that I like that I don't know if most people have noticed. I also turned most of the "gloss" off, just because I don't need it, so why stare at it all day.

  9. I can also confirm this, an example to look at could be http://whois.sc/heliohost.org (you can replace heliohost.org with any domain name)

There are services where you can pay to have your information hidden (well the service puts their information there instead), But I really don't find it that big of a deal, i've owned a couple domains (for about 5 years total) and the information really isn't that useful. Sure the address is, but don't do anything on your site to make people mad at you.

  10. Yea so I think it's ironic that we talk about this then it happens to me multiple times today. http://trippin.uni.cc randomly won't work for me (i'm in florida on embarq) and a friend in california can view the site just fine. I don't understand why it's random like that though, and he never has problems viewing the site. Yet I can view my site using my subdomain trippin.heliohost.org but even today THAT stopped working (only once though) so I found out i'm able to view my site at http://64.235.55.112/~trippin but viewing my site at trippin.heliohost.org and theip/~trippin i'm not able to work on my forum since it automatically redirects to trippin.uni.cc

I hope that makes sense because it's late and i'm tired. If it doesn't i'll fix it tomorrow.
