What do you mean? Do you want your files on Johnny Server because if you do then you will have to wait until Johnny is back online? All user files are being backed up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

What you can do is make a folder in your local Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and have the folder sync with the server so if the server ever goes down then you still have all your files and can make changes to them while the server is down.

I guess what I'm trying to achieve can be explained in this way.

 

I have my website at my main domain nerd.bd.to.

 

I would like to have a have a test site test.nerd.bd.to that is live that I can use to make changes and then have people review it. After the review process and I'm happy with everything I would like to deloy the design to nerd.bd.to with zero downtime.

 

However, if I copy everything from nerd.bd.to to test.nerd.bd.to (including DB) and then take a few weeks making changes. Then I cannot simply transfer test.nerd.bd.to back to nerd.bd.to since there will be new content. IE there will be new post, comments, users, etc.

Can you explain this a little better I am bit confused. what do you mean by making changes on test.nerd.bd.to will also make changes to nerd.bd.to

it shouldn't make any changes at all unless you upload test.nerd.bd.to the to the server to update nerd.bd.to; the only way it would make changes is if you don't make copy of the database so the current one doesn't get updated with nerd.bd.to. Please Explain your situation a little better because this is what I got from your message.

Well, since firefox saved your own accounts password you can delete it, and since you have your brothers account password that was sent to you can also delete unless your account was on johnny the you would need to ask one of the admins to delete but if you have an account on stevie then you can delete it yourself.

You can also change your current subdomain without deleting your account by going to

http://www.heliohost.../scripts/domain

then putting in your cpanel username, password and new subdomain (you will need to included the domain where the subdomain will be registered)

I am assuming you remember your cpanel password if not then delete your brothers account and do another password reset for your account and that should work.

No offence danny, but that is your job. Are you aware of how big their harddrive is? While we strive to not be the classic "You get what you pay for", keep in mind many paid hosts do not automaticlly back up YOUR data.

That's good news glad to here it was just a operating system error but just to be save for next time you should have all of johnny's files backed up automatcally incase next time it turns out to have a hardware problem or software problem that way you can just bring up the backup.

Perhaps it is not a software problem but a hardware problem instead it could be that a some hardware damaged during the update, and thats what keeping johnny from responding or maybe a virus infected the server while it was updating keeping it from operating properly

I would take a look at the hardware first than scan the server for any worms, virus or any type of infection, and if you find nothing than you should take a look at the system logs.

Okay, so I don't mean to be so picky about this but when will stevie be updated to 11.34, I am not sure if it came out already the cpanel site says so.

So I don't know if this is done on purpose but I have notice this for the pass few weeks and thought that it was being fixed but now I am not sure;

The Reputation Tab on the Members Profile keeps showing me

so I decided to take a look at the source code line 73 and saw nothing written on line 73 at all, so I decided to look up for the word reputation in the source code and I found it on lines 206, 363, 376, 378, 380, 381 those are all that I found. So anyways I started looking at the code written down and I didn't find anything wrong with the code so what's the problem did I miss something or what.

When will this problem be fixed?

That's true but all you really need is a minimum of 512 megabytes of RAM and atleast 15 Gigabytes of free space from a 20 Gigabytes HDD. But still pretty inpressive.

God, isn't an easy question to answer. The best way to see it is to figure it out for yourself; who god is?, why he is?, does god really work at papa johns? you have to figure all of this out for yourself. I am not saying that god works at papa johns I am just saying whatever your question is find it for yourself; and let me tell you not easy.

About the self-driving cars, the technology is already here (google cars).

Yeah, that's true but the Google cars are still experimental or at least since I last checked so it could be awhile until that technology is built-in to the cars themselves; my guess is that won't be til another 6-7 years maybe less for all I know.

Not a lot of topics on Helionet about Technology and the Internet so I thought I start one.

List all possible things that you think will be in the future; you don't have to say why but you know creativity, imagation and all that good stuff.

1.) I think there are going tobe a lot of things but mostly Cars that can drive themselves. What would think even call that autopilot or autodrive (You Choose, I think autodrive.)

2.) I also think that something is going to happen with food in the future, not sure what it is going tobe about but I am sure it going to be great , as long as it doesn't suck .

But yeah, put whatever you thnk is going tohappen in the future it doesn't even have to be about tech it can be about anything.

So again, it can be about anything.

I got a nice computer set-up that works for me, it freeze's up sometimes but it works for me.

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

CPU: Intel Celeron

RAM: 3 Gigabytes

HDD: 220 Gigabytes

I Plan to upgrade but not until Intel release's a 15nm or less processor; they're getting close they already have 22nm processors. I am also waiting for a 20 TeraByte Hard Drive to Come Out with 16 Gigabyte Ram and Windows 8 Operating System. But all of this won't come out for the next couple of months to years; except for Windows 8 that is coming out in 61 days, and the 16 Gigabyte Ram which I know is already out, so all I am waiting for is for Intel's 15nm or less processor's and 20 Terabytes Hard Drives to come out. I am saying all of this cause I multitask on my computers a lot.

Well, anyways does Heliohost plan to Upgrade their servers? I know that djbob has already upgraded Cody but what about Stevie, Charlie, and Johnny.

As far as I see it djbob can upgrade them if he wanted to so why not upgrade the rest of the servers.

Well, maybe all the bugs would already be gone considering it is going to be released on October 26, 2012. That's 61 days away. I agree I didn't like the new User Interface (UI) but after awhile of using it I got use to it and liked it, didn't love it but I liked it. Plus, Microsoft is almost done with the support status.
