I recently created my first account over on Johnny, and installed a forum for my guild. After everything was set up I noticed that Johnny goes through very frequent intervals of either running normally, running extremely slowly (20+ seconds to load a single page), or even being inaccessible altogether.
After doing some research, it is my understanding that Johnny is typically much less stable because of the extra features that it provides such as ASP.net, Ruby on Rails, etc. I do not currently use these features, however I wanted my website to be on Johnny because I have had a prolonged interest in learning and using those new technologies at some point.
My question is if this repeated slowness and downtime on Johnny is something that will continue for the foreseeable future, or if this is just something temporary that will clear up in a week or two. I'm running a fairly simple website that doesn't have a great deal of traffic, so rock solid stability isn't important to me. With that said though, it does still have to be usable at least most of the time, currently though I almost always expect it to be either extremely slow or even down altogether.
Please don't take this as a complaint, I love that you guys offer free hosting with such a large and attractive amount of features at no extra charge. I'm just trying to plan for the future, and wanting to decide if I should stick it out on Johnny for the extra tools at some point, or wave the white flag and make the move over to Stevie now.
Thanks.
