  1. Login through the heliohost homepage (http://heliohost.org) Depends what your operating system is. If you post your OS I could probably tell you. What you are referring to is the IP of your site, but the problem is that your site is probably on a shared IP. Therefore, visiting that IP won't bring up your site, it will only bring up the Account Queued page. Right.. but isn't there usually an IP with a path that allows me access based on username? i.e., x.x.x.x.x/~username ? that ends up going to the site ? (I'm supposed to edit my hosts file locally?! Sorry.. I guess not pointing the nameservers to you guys makes everything a lot more complicated than I thought..)
  2. Little confused.. I can't access cpanel because my domain name isn't pointed to you guys right now.. so where can I edit this hosts file? I just need a web URL that points to my website that is currently on your servers.. (Maybe because I've never used anything but cpanel.. that could be why I'm more confused than I should be!)
  3. Hi guys, I updated my nameservers to point somewhere else (temporarily). How do I access my web page through http:// without entering my domain name?
  4. I have had problems accessing the site the whole week - I might need to switch over to paid hosting shortly. Just curious where the site was being hosted..
  5. Hey guys, I'm now at the stage where I think I would like to have a much faster site (and be willing to pay for it). I guess I never asked where your servers are located, but in any case, can you guys recommend some cheap providers in the Western Canada / Western US region? Just for basic hosting, but with a nice fat pipe so there is no lag. Cheers!
  6. Yes; you would have to install it. I'm sure it won't take more than 10 minutes. In fact, you might be able to use softalicious in your cpanel to install it for you. Awesome. Worked great. Thank you. Is there a reason why piwik is considered okay, versus the stat counters that are in cpanel that are locked out? Don't they all usually eat up the same bandwidth? Cheers.
  7. These are disabled because they can cause high server load. You can easily duplicate this functionality with something like piwik. Hey Geoff, Was just checking into the stat counters stuff for the website. Piwik looks like something I would have to install on the web server? So does this mean I'd have to install it on Johnny? Just trying to find the most trouble-free solution to throw in a decent stat counter to the site. Cheers.
  8. Thanks for the heads up! I never needed any of the extra stuff on Johnny. I guess there is no easy way to move my stuff over to Stevie without making a new account there manually?
  9. Hi guys, Before I start with my questions, I just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work on this heliohost site. I've hosted my first noobie site on this, and I've learned so much just about getting things going and all. You guys rock. Quick Questions: Stat counters in cpanel - looks like they are locked out. I'm not being picky, but is there a reason why these are disabled? Would love to know some stats about site visits if that is available. Uptime for Johnny - Is the priority uptime for Johnny the same as the other server?
  10. Nevermind folks - appears to be working. Sorry for the noob post!
  11. Good (late) evening guys, Just getting my fingers wet with the whole e-mail & php side of stuff (Got simple PHP send e-mail working, yes!). But I can't seem to send any e-mail to my domain. Website displays correctly, but any e-mail sent to my domain doesn't get forwarded to my gmail account. Nor can I access the mail in the cpanel anywhere. Is there any particular settings (MX records, or something?) that I have to configure to get 'er going?
  12. Your site won't become active until tomorrow and adding the index page won't help until then. @jagzjagz: This problem should be fixed now. If your still seeing the hackers email address, clear your cache. Awesome man, thank you again for the help. If there is a way to fast-track my account active, I'll get to work on it today (yeay!). If not, I'll just wait until tomorrow to start tinkering with creating my first cool site. Cheers
  13. No probs, just wanted to help out in case it was something fishy. Thnx! No probs, just wanted to help out in case it was something fishy. Thnx! Adding my index.html to public_html should get rid of this right? Is there any other process for getting it "active"? Sorry for the noob-ish question.. but I just uploaded the index.html and it still shows this.
  14. Hey gang, Maybe still some left over 'hacked' stuff still on the server? I signed up a few hours ago, pointed my .com site to your nameservers, and I get the following on the main page: /cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi : A3q was here ... A3q [ at ] att [ . ] net Whos A3q...?
