Hi everybody. To enable us to publicly chat about the HelioHost service I have created an IRC channel with Freenode. ;)

Please check it out at:

http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=HelioHost (no client necessary).

If you have an IRC client already, you may connect to irc://irc.freenode.net and join the #HelioHost channel.

Thanks

You can ask questions, but for more involved issues, HelioNet is still better.

Aaah :)

I'm still gonna use HelioNet cause thats what funds this great hosting service

HelioHost IRC is still active, it's just nobody uses it.

I think most of members not aware of it.When we are in online, others may not there. When they are in , we may be out. that's the problem with IRC. Why don't you try shoutbox?

You can put the shoutbox in helionet itself. Uses no need to go outside sites or softwares. When members visit helionet, they are able to see the shoutbox. They can help or contribute in the shoutbox.

The shout box is a great idea.

And not every one knows the IRC yet.

Over time, more and more people would use it.

A shoutbox isn't really good for support. A shoutbox is not meant for chatting, just for posting messages. There would be no way of knowing if someone else is available to help. IRC, however, does list who is online and it is separate from the people just reading the forums. The only other option I think would work would be an IM service (ex. http://www.cl58services.co.cc/im/), but I think IRC is best at this point.

You can also "embed" IRC in helionet: all that needs to be done is to post an iframe to webchat.freenode.net.
