KratosPC Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Hello guys, Ever since the power outage a few days back my site has been slow to load up pretty much all php as well any sql queries. Not sure if it's only my site or something involved with the outage. Testing it out right now when Stevie's load is quite low [~3.0] and site is still pretty slow to load, which gets slowed even further with any php functions. I have a test page with just a single php 'include' function and that takes a good 30 seconds to load during the day time. I'm a bit perplexed. Any advice/info? Thanks! EDIT: So I may have read Stevie's load wrong as it's showing 14 now. So disregard that statement about low server load. So would the slowness of the site be just because Stevie's bogged down in general?
frostbyte Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Although I have a feeling that you may have noticed this but the problem for me anyway is not just with php files everything seems really slow and a lot of timeouts are occurring with Stevie even when his load is low like now its only 5 and the problems are just as bad as when it gets up high. Even looking at the server monitor at http://grd.net.pl/heliohost/monitor/ shows that it cant limited to a few people experiencing it and compared to before the power failure the server has become slightly unstable... Do you guys have any idea on what could be causing the problems or anything we could do to help improve the sites reliability or is it a matter of waiting for djbob to look at it?
jje Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 Yes, we have noticed and are aware of the current problems with Stevie, and at the moment I am not sure what is causing these strange issues. I have escalated this thread, so djbob will soon reply and try to solve these problems.
KratosPC Posted May 9, 2011 Author Posted May 9, 2011 Thanks, jje Loaded my pages a few hours ago and it was back to normal speeds, loading htem now is slow again. Not sure what's going on....
Marfugga Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 I too am having problems with my site which is hosted on Stevie. For brief amounts of time it looks like it's loading at full speed, but other times it is very sluggish, barely loading at all. Whenever this happens it's also almost impossible to access my webmail or cpanel because those are just as slow. This is weird, since heliohost was always a blazing fast host for me. witchcraft Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Loaded my pages a few hours ago and it was back to normal speeds, loading htem now is slow again. Not sure what's going on.... every one who work on stevie got this problem. we should wait couple more days maybe server need restart or some other problem with the hardware anyway i wish best luck with stevie & i hope it will work for all of us
Ashoat Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Can you guys give me a URL where this issue is occurring?
jje Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Not sure about that, but look at the uptime for Stevie at: http://grd.net.pl/heliohost/monitor/
KratosPC Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 Can you guys give me a URL where this issue is occurring? You can try any of my pages at www.kratospc.com/temp_root Before the outage, pages loaded quickly and no lag. After the outage, pages will load anywhere between 1-15 seconds at random intervals. Not sure about that, but look at the uptime for Stevie at: http://grd.net.pl/heliohost/monitor/ Thanks for that link. Looks like Stevie has been really lagging after that outage. Looking at earlier dates, HTTP/FTP/CPanel are pretty green, then this week they're all sorts of colorful.
Ashoat Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 This is a really weird problem... it's been between five and ten seconds for two loads, and completely snappy for the other hundred or so. Has the issue been getting better recently?
KratosPC Posted May 10, 2011 Author Posted May 10, 2011 This is a really weird problem... it's been between five and ten seconds for two loads, and completely snappy for the other hundred or so. Has the issue been getting better recently? It is better than it was right after the power outage, but still pretty inconsistent. I looked at that page jje sent me and it seems, globally, Stevie is having some major slowdowns since the outage last week. Pretty much any date before May 7th and Stevie is all green, which supposedly means fast loads. Look at the dates immediately following the power outage and you'll see it's now full of blue and red. I have no idea why that may be or what it implies, but it may be related? Not sure.
Ashoat Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Since I'm not exactly sure what to do, I'm going to give Stevie a reboot later today and see if that helps. If not, we'll probably have to run a force-fsck on him.
Marfugga Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Wow, stuff like this must be a pain to figure out, when you don't even know what's causing it. This is the 4th free host i've tried, and the 3 before were far worse. At least Helio started off fast for me, the other ones were just sub par. I bet once I switch hosts again this one'll be back to normal, haha
