jje Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 We are proud to announce the release of the brand new Official HelioHost Wiki This brand new wiki contains articles which answer many of the commonly asked questions which people ask on HelioNet as well as troubleshooting solutions. Furthermore, the articles constructed on the wiki are written and created by users like yourself who like to share their experiences with the community. Take a look... wiki.helionet.org To contribute to the wiki, you will need more than 20 posts on HelioNet. If you have 20 posts or more, and you wish to contribute, then please reply to this topic with your cPanel username, and I will PM you with a changeable username and password. We also value your feedback - please reply to this topic with any questions or feedback. Thanks, 1
cl58 Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I would like to contribute. My cPanel username is cl58tool.
Guest Geoff Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 OK. You have wiki access. Everyone else: Please post in the wiki access forum in customer service. Thanks.
cl58 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 You should clean up the URLs on the wiki by following the instructions at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Short_URL. For example, this would make http://wiki.helionet.org/index.php?title=Main_Page accessible from http://wiki.helionet.org/Main_Page which looks a lot better and is easier to use and remember.
jje Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 Hmm.. I'll work on it... Also, thanks Geoff for setting that up. http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showforum=79 Okay - the article URLs are now something like: /wiki/Article_Name
cl58 Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I just started http://wiki.helionet.org/wiki/What_Heliohost_Is_Not I only put two things, but I think that this could potentially be a valuable resource for users who are planning to sign up. 1
jje Posted April 20, 2011 Author Posted April 20, 2011 Thanks, Christopher! I'm sure this wiki is going to be full of articles in the future!
Guest Geoff Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Also, I changed the permissions set up on the heliohost wiki. Now users can sign up, but registered users don't have any more permissions than anonymous users. To grant them write permissions, add then to the 'confirmed' group under 'user management'.
cl58 Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 There should probably be a link to the wiki added under support in the HelioHost menu.
jje Posted April 28, 2011 Author Posted April 28, 2011 @cl58tools - As a thank you for contributing to the wiki, we have promoted your account on HelioNet to the 'Contributer' rank
