[Solved] Can not connect to Mail Server using Outlook2003

Hi,

My user name is radhx and domain is radiansoft.heliohost.org.

I am trying to connect to mail server mail.radiansoft.heliohost.org through Outlook2003 using POP3 account with following details (using manual mail setup info at heliohost.org):

email address: radhx@radiansoft.heliohost.org

incoming mail server (POP3): mail.radiansoft.heliohost.org

outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.radiansoft.heliohost.org

user name: radhx+radiansoft.heliohost.org (tried with radhx@radiansoft.heliohost.org but without success)

password: *****

More settings:

Outgoing Server: requires authentication - use same settings as my incoming mail server

Advanced: Server port numbers: POP3 = 110 SMTP = 25 (tried with SSL but without success)

When I try to test my account settings, I get the following message:

When I try to send/receive mail, I get the following error in Outlook2003:

Now I can retrieve the mails from my all email accounts. Thanks for the same.

But I still can not send emails using any of the SMTP servers.

Task 'RadianSoft Support - Sending' reported error (0x8004210B) : 'The operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Yes, I could send mail from mail2web.com, and received it in my Outlook mailbox too.

But I can not send mails from Outlook using heliohost SMTP server.

The Only difference is at my side Outlook signs my all outgoing emails with Comodo Email Security Certificate.

No, it does not work even without my dig. signature.

I tried to send the same mail using Pegasus Mail Client, but without any success.

Though I can send mails using SMTP from my other service providers like Rediffmail.com and Gmail.com.

While sending mail without dig. signature,

The mail remained in my outbox(queue).

The above mail was for Gmail account.

When I tried to send mail to Rediffmail / Hotmail / Yahoo,

I get the following "Mail Delivery Failure" for all the three:

I am trying with both Outlook2003 and Pegasus Mail 4.52.

But as I will be moving from Outlook2003 to Pegasus Mail, the previous example was from Pegasus Mail.

Okay, I played around I was able to send a message using a remote connection to the SMTP server. However, I needed to provide password authentication... and the SMTP server only checked the authentication later, so the client didn't tell me I was wrong in not providing authentication.

Make sure you provide password authentication to the SMTP server - that should solve your problem.

Thanks Djbob. It worked!!

I was using only "Do a prior POP3 login to authenticate" option.

When I used "Login to SMTP server using the following details" option along with "Do a prior POP3 login" option, the mails went through.
