warpdog212 Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I have been reviewing a number of different web-centric solutions and wondered if Plone is supported on HeliHost? Quote
Derek Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 It's not like it's against the rules or anything. I've been looking at the system requirements, and it says that it needs "to run daemon processes" and "Zope wants to open it's own port for incoming requests." So, I'm not so sure. But you're always welcome to try. I'm sure someone more experienced will reply soon, though. Quote

rvt Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 I'm going to guess no because based on my research Zope is like Apache in the sense that it is its own web server. But I can't get to their site to download it and try so I can't be certain. Quote

rvt Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Based on my research Plone only runs on Zope. So without Zope Plone won't work and I think Zope is a no-go. Quote
warpdog212 Posted August 18, 2010 Author Posted August 18, 2010 Checked the requirements a little closer for Plone and chose to err on the cautious side and not attempt an install at this time. Memory requirements appear to be quit large with 512MB ram available as a minimum for a relatively functional site. There are some options regarding the Zope requirement as web server including using a product called Repoze but again I need to do a lot more research on this CMS. Thanks for the input and hope to have a running copy in the future. Quote
