Public Html doesnt exist...

I kinda really screwed myself this time.

 

I was installing the fantastico Soho site software and it said Public_Html was conflicting so I deleted the forum I had previously installed in it. Then I retried soholaunch and same thing. I figured that it meant that it wanted to replace the whole Public_Html so I removed it and retried. Now I get 100x as many errors for my efforts.

 

I really never thought I would be the one to do something so stupid

 

LMAO. Is ther any way I can fix this or does my website have to be reset or something.

 

You are probably never going to see someone do something quite this stupid ever again, so laugh now...

Go to your home directory and create a new folder called public_html and chmod to 750.

You might want to recreate your cgi-bin inside the public_html folder too.

I installed phpbb semi successfully without seeing your cgi post. Im getting a 403 forbidden error. Will the cgi fix that?

No adding the cgi-bin won't correct that. You need to look in your .htaccess file and see how it's configured.

i added the cgi-bin folder but still get 403

oOh sorry . I have no clue of htaccess. I know it is there and ive been told to edit it before and i know it can control permissions but that is it.

 

Where do i find .htacces?

You should be able to see it by going to your public_html folder through this url

 

http://YOUR_DOMAIN:2082/frontend/x3/files/...r=/public_html/

 

Post back what you have in it.

I deleted public html so ther is no ht access.

Did you look in your public_html folder for it? It probably got created when you installed your phpbb.
