ipoddude Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 i like windoiws because it is what almost everything runs off of. but i also like linux because of what you can do with it.
HerLoss Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I'm hardcore for linux and unix mainely because, as with most non MS products, there arent nearly as many viruses, trojans, etc. that are programmed to run in them. I always have a partition of it on every computer i have in case something goes wrong and i cant load windows in safe mode, cuz linux will always load up.
nilayz Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 I'm happy with my Windows XP Pro. It super cool, supports Hyperthreading technology and is pretty secure and stable.
Snowboardalliance Posted April 3, 2005 Posted April 3, 2005 I think Windows is best because really anyone can use it. We won't be seeing new PCs that ship with Linux until it is as "user friendly" as Windows. I have never used Linux, but I know it requires more work for the people with no computer knowledge.
HerLoss Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 If you use a graphical interface for linux like GNOME or KDE, all you have to do is put in your username and password at the starting prompt, then put in the command to start the graphic interface program. GNOME and KDE are made to look and work similarly to Windows or the Mac OS. It really doesnt take much to learn it, not as much as to learn every aspect of windows.
lappy512 Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 actually, that is untrue. you can have a startup screen like xp home, it's default to give you a login in a GUI now, and one of the profiles in SuSE has a startup screen like XP Home.
GameClaw_268 Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Considering I'm a gamer, I have to vote windows, only thing games will run on. Linux is better though.
awesomegamer Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 ive got windows XP home edition, but when i get my own computer (not thias family one!) it will be XP office or the longhorn when it comes out.
PhoenixFlame512 Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 Considering I'm a gamer, I have to vote windows, only thing games will run on. Linux is better though. Windows may run the most games, but it is not the only thing that games will run on. The Mac OS X v10.3 from Apple Computer also allows you to play a selection of several hundreds of games.
Kyougi Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Linux is fine, I prefer it on my older computer VS MS because the MS server won't allow me to enter my dumb reg key.
zero Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 i picked windows because they have better features and mostly everything runs on them
Snowboardalliance Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 Are there any Linux versions that can play most games? Or that are compatitable with windows software? I would be interested in them.
HerLoss Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 I cant think of any real games that work with linux, but you can get firefox and thunderbird
lightsilver Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 windows=good mac=bad rest=never herd of i voted wiindows
praiseR Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Windows is good!!!!!!!!!! i never used linux or mac or "others" so........... i think Windows is GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
