Dear HelioNet Members,

The Helio Networks and PixelRift have made a merger today. Don't worry, HN will stay HN, and HH will stay HH. However, I few changes will be made, which I believe will be to the best:

1. We will be using a VPS!! This VPS has already been bought (today). We will also have everything streamlined using CPanelApp.

2. Will, the owner of PixelRift, will be instated as an admin and co-owner.

3. This is one you might not all like... ads will be placed between posts on the forums. Good news is, you can remove the ads with an item bought with 1000 Helions.

All these changes will happen soon! Also, I would like you to know that if you don't like this, I will cancel the merger. However, I doubt you won't like it, and I think you will find the merger a positive thing ;)

Where's the remove ads item?

Yah HerLoss, but its true. If you read the Google rules... meh, you don't wanna do that, lol. But Will got busted for doing it... I donno.

Don't worry, no popups ;). In fact, in terms of ads, we are having around the same amount. We still have only one ad at the index, but we now will have zero ads in add-reply pages, and two ads on content pages. Which averages out to only one ad per page! Plus, the ad up top will be smaller, so in truth, we actually are having less ads!

The ad on top is not smaller yet, and there are still ads in the add reply files...

You guys have to remember that djbob can also be held responsible for the posts of his members in a US court, so if some FCC guy had come along and saw the hacking post djbob could have been in trouble (I am pretty sure this is correct)... Regardless of a content disclaimer, because he failed to remove it (I think?)

Interesting you mentioned that, spacekid, since in a IM conversation with him, it went like this:

              http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=613

[01:15:28 AM] Lappy512: im not sure, but that's against KL's

rules, not sure about yours, let me check

[01:16:00 AM] Lappy512: no, you don't have a "no hacking" policy

[01:16:46 AM] DJBOB: i do have a no illegal stuff policy :-"

[01:16:51 AM] DJBOB: but technically, this is illegal

[01:16:53 AM] DJBOB: *lega

[01:16:54 AM] DJBOB: *legal

[01:16:57 AM] DJBOB: so, its all goo

[01:16:59 AM] DJBOB: *good

[01:17:01 AM] Lappy512: hacking is not

[01:17:36 AM] Lappy512: i don't think hacking is legal

[01:17:59 AM] DJBOB: it can be

[01:18:04 AM] DJBOB: for instance, hacking yourself

[01:18:12 AM] DJBOB: also:

[01:18:36 AM] DJBOB: at the bottom of the home page of HN

[01:18:36 AM] DJBOB: Member posts or opinions do not

necessarily reflect those of Helio Networks and are the

              sole property of the member.

[01:18:50 AM] DJBOB: which totally protects me

[01:19:17 AM] Lappy512: but couoldn't you get sued for allowing

this to get posted and circulated?

[01:19:48 AM] DJBOB: no. because members agree that all posts

are their sole responsibility. which means i am not

              responsible for it.
