myscrnnm II Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 i vote for pc's more powerful for the price There is more to it than that. What you're saying is like that you like a car better than the other cuz it has more cupholders, it is just one factor. You didn't take into account that Apple computers have their advantages too, like the Mac OS X operating system, the most advanced operating system in the world. Also, it actually isn't true that PCs are more powerful than Apple computers for the price. Most of the current Pentium 4s do indeed have higher clockspeeds than their PowerPC equivalents, but the PowerPC processors have more floating point calculations per second than the Pentium 4s, therefore they do not need as high a clockspeed. Also, the PowerMac G5s have dual processors, yes, dual processors, for twice the computing power.
chrisc Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 laptops are great for gaming or entertainment on the go also for business desktops have good hard drives and ghz but if prefer the laptop
MadGamer Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 PC's as they are far more capable of having the latest hardware/software etc
myscrnnm III Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 PC's as they are far more capable of having the latest hardware/software etc Not necessarily. For instance, the PowerMac G5 and iMac G5 have powerful IBM PowerPC processors, better than any AMD out there, and more powerful than lots of Intel chips. And in terms of software, Macs are unrivalled, with the new Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger, there is no operating system like it.

You cant pop a brand spanking new graphics card hot off the line into a laptop.
MadGamer Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 No of course not as a) the componants are smaller they are very hard to get hold of

But you can pop a new graphics card into a Power Mac, which can make it better than a PC, and most Power Macs come with high end video cards anyway.
Eulophoria Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 A compact pc with a portable power pack and a usb powered screen.
Dragonfire Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Personally I prefer a personal computer (pc) because it has stuff much much more cheaper than laptop. But if I get to choose in some prize or something for which I do not have to pay I would just get a laptop.
kikass Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 yeah i would also refer a dessktop because its cheap and i use my pc for downloading.
Dragonfire Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Well, laptops is the computer for businessmen. They need to take it from place to place so they must use a laptop. ] Discuss about the new intel processors. eg. Xeon, server processors etc. go to this site for more info on processors : http://www.intel.com
