emcee1 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 I tried loading my home page today and received a DNS error. A check of where the problem was showed this: * ns1.heliohost.org returned (NORECORDS) * ns2.heliohost.org returned (NORECORDS) So I went to log in to cpanel to see what was going on, but my username and password no longer work. Was my account removed or suspended? If so, why? I haven't received any email about it. Although, now that my domain is down, I can't receive any email at all.
Byron Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 See if you can renew here: http://www.heliohost.org/scripts/renew.php If you succeed then you can login from the heliohost home page: http://www.heliohost.org/
emcee1 Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 I get: We're sorry, but we either could not find that account in the database, or it is not listed as inactive. Please contact an administrator if you feel this message is in error. Edit: Forgot to add: my domain is pennylanepc.com, and my cpanel username is emcee.
Byron Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 If it's been over 30 days since your last login to your cpanel than your site has probably been deleted. If that's the case you can re-register with that same domain but your files will no longer be there.
emcee1 Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 I guess that's probably it. Why no mention of this in the terms? Or at least a warning before it's deleted. Thankfully, everything is backed up.
Wizard Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 An email was sent to the address you provided at registration.
emcee1 Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 For some reason I never got it. It's not in my inbox or spam.
Byron Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 For some reason I never got it. It's not in my inbox or spam. Who is your email client? If it's hotmail then it probably got blocked.
emcee1 Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Gmail, but it uses the domain I have hosted here. So, anything@pennylanepc.com ends up in my gmail inbox, or at least it should. Was the email sent after the domain was suspended?
Byron Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 The email is sent out before you site gets deleted. We've had some server problems the last few days and maybe that's why you didn't get it? Just make sure you login at least once every 30 days with your new account and you won't have any problems.
hal Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 In another thread, I'm claiming HelioHost for my account recovery, too. I also didn't receive the notification about suspendeing or deleting. My email address is Gmail.
