I just set up a HelioHost account for a .com domain that I own (monstret.com). My hope was to be able to use it for mail server as well as migrating the contents from my web server later on. Now that my ISP shut down the connection for several weeks by mistake, I understand how

But I can't find info about how to set up MX accounts. It seems that now that I entered "monstret.com" as the domain name of my account, HelioHost expects me to redirect all business to them (for instance, the control panel should from now on be accessed through monstret.com/cpanel). If that is the case I can accept that but still, can I use HelioHost for MX service?

You should be able to use HelioHost just for your MX services. You'll have to have an MX record pointing to HelioHost at your domain host.
