Bill Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Lately I have had problems with ftp, I am using the latest version of filezilla. It just comes up like this... This has happened a lot of times... Response: 220---------- Welcome to Pure-FTPd [TLS] ---------- Response: 220-You are user number 23 of 50 allowed. Response: 220-Local time is now 07:52. Server port: 21. Resolving address of olor2002fourm.heliohost.org Status: Connecting to 65.19.143.3:21... Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message... Response: 421 Too many connections (8) from this IP Error: Could not connect to server Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt... I don't know what to do. I'm trying to update my phpbb and as cpanel file manger doesn't upload folders this seems to be my only option. Thank you for your help.
Malmoth Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Did you try switching to active mode? Give it a try; it might help.
Bill Posted August 19, 2009 Author Posted August 19, 2009 Nope its still not working it gives me Connection attempt failed with "EAI_BADFLAGS - Invalid value for ai_flags".
Ashoat Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 The multiple retries probably cause the "too many connections" error. What happens if you wait (in passive mode) after one try?
Bill Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 Sorry djbob After the MLSD it timed out Response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (65,19,143,3,233,14) Command: MLSD Error: Connection timed out Edit: Sometimes it works up to when it tries to upload a file such as database_update.php and then it waits a while and says its timed out. Thanks
Ashoat Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 Does this happen from all computers you've tried it from? What happens if you try to access your FTP account from an online FTP client?
Bill Posted August 21, 2009 Author Posted August 21, 2009 No I haven't tried it from a other pc (I will). What is an online ftp and how do use it. Thank you
Bill Posted August 23, 2009 Author Posted August 23, 2009 No still not working net2ftp just hangs it doesn't go onto the next page . I am trying to set up my own win 2000 server with apache (I'm not sure how to use nameservers etc. I'd love to have help with that) so i will use heliohost until I can fix that up. But Heliohost is great
Ashoat Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Try creating a new FTP account and try logging in from there.
Ashoat Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 A new FTP account, not a new "main" account. There should be an option in your cPanel.
Bill Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 No still timeout on MLSD Resolving address of olor2002fourm.heliohost.org Status: Connecting to 65.19.143.3:21... Ashoat Posted August 24, 2009 Posted August 24, 2009 Something's got to be wrong with your computer. I just created an FTP account on your account (djbob@olor2002fourm.heliohost.org) and was able to log in successfully both from my computer at home and from Net2FTP. Are you sure you are remembering the password correctly and everything? If you want, you can create an FTP account and PM me the password and I'll check if it works for me.
Bill Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 I tried net2ftp on my mums pc, net2ftp just hangs... This is anoying... So is server 2000...
