Ftp error

Lately I have had problems with ftp, I am using the latest version of filezilla. It just comes up like this... This has happened a lot of times...

When trying to transfer files it times out and after a few retry's it says...

I don't know what to do. I'm trying to update my phpbb and as cpanel file manger doesn't upload folders this seems to be my only option.

Did you try switching to active mode?

Give it a try; it might help.

Nope its still not working it gives me

 

Connection attempt failed with "EAI_BADFLAGS - Invalid value for ai_flags".

The multiple retries probably cause the "too many connections" error. What happens if you wait (in passive mode) after one try?

Edit:

Sometimes it works up to when it tries to upload a file such as database_update.php and then it waits a while and says its timed out.

Does this happen from all computers you've tried it from? What happens if you try to access your FTP account from an online FTP client?

No I haven't tried it from a other pc (I will). What is an online ftp and how do use it.

No still not working net2ftp just hangs it doesn't go onto the next page . I am trying to set up my own win 2000 server with apache (I'm not sure how to use nameservers etc. I'd love to have help with that) so i will use heliohost until I can fix that up. But Heliohost is great

Try creating a new FTP account and try logging in from there.

A new FTP account, not a new "main" account. There should be an option in your cPanel.

Something's got to be wrong with your computer. I just created an FTP account on your account (djbob@olor2002fourm.heliohost.org) and was able to log in successfully both from my computer at home and from Net2FTP. Are you sure you are remembering the password correctly and everything? If you want, you can create an FTP account and PM me the password and I'll check if it works for me.

I tried net2ftp on my mums pc, net2ftp just hangs... This is anoying... So is server 2000...
