Hotmail issues and Domain name changing

Hi ^^

I'd like to say that I am very happy that Heliohost reopened signups, I've been waiting for this to happen for 6 months now. =)

When I saw that the signups were open, I registered an account using my Hotmail e-mail adress and a co.cc adress I have, verifying that both adresses were correctly typed in. Unfortunately, I did not receive an e-mail from Heliohost to confirm my registration even though at signup it said my account had been created (and I checked my Spam folder: I didn't receive the mail at all).

A bit confused by that, I went to Helionet to create an account using that same Hotmail e-mail adress, and I still didn't get the confirmation e-mail. Because I needed the confirmation link to validate my account and post my questions here, I created another account, this time with my ISP-provided e-mail, and I recieved the confirmation link instantly. Just thought you might want to know about this.

Now, all this caused another problem... ^^

When I created my account with my ISP e-mail, I took an heliohost.org adress just in case registration didn't work with my co.cc adress because I had already tried (and "succeded") registration with that one. Would it be possible to change my account so that instead of majteam.heliohost.org, my account uses majteam.co.cc? I saw another poster asking for this, so here's all the information you requested from him:

*User Name: roujo

*Current Domain: majteam.heliohost.org

*Desired Domain: majteam.co.cc --- The adress is already pointing to the ns1 and ns2.heliohost.org nameservers.

*Hotmail Email: [removed] --- This is just in case the co.cc adress is registered somehow in your database

*Current Email: [removed]

Thank you for your time, and it would really help me if this was possible. As I said, I've been looking forward to using your services for some time now, and this is the only thing missing for it to work. =)

A happy customer,

Roujo

I think Hotmail blocks emails from HelioHost. I'll add some filter sometime to the signup script to catch Hotmail addresses and warn people.

Okay, the domain for your account has been changed. Your account is still in the queue, though... it'll take around 24 hours for it to be activated.

  • 1 year later...

I tried to register, but i got this message:

"We're sorry, but you cannot use a Hotmail error address with our service. Hotmail blocks our incoming emails."

I guess this means I'm not registerd. Can I use my Hotmail account at all, or am I forced to use another e-mail account?
