Byron Posted December 27, 2008 Posted December 27, 2008 were up to 98.5% downtime (only counting after the kernel reset) it is pretty much fixed Yea it seems to be so with just a few minor issues. I wish djbob would post with an update for us. I'm really curious to know what to expect for Heliohost now.
Sungazer Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 were up to 98.5% downtime (only counting after the kernel reset) it is pretty much fixed lol 98.5% uptime not downtime
crazybmanp Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 were up to 98.5% downtime (only counting after the kernel reset) it is pretty much fixed lol 98.5% uptime not downtime ...now that you mention it... ...wow, i messed that up...
JcX Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 I care nothing about the uptime report. I just want djbob to make a brief report of what has happened and end the chaos here. I want Helio back to its previous state. Anyway, still happy to see Helio is up to good
Kyougi Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 (01:29:42 AM) djbob: they fixed it, but I got them to explain it (01:29:46 AM) djbob: do you want me to explain it? (01:29:50 AM) Tony: Sure (01:30:10 AM) djbob: OK. well, newer builds of cPanel started filling /usr with httpd.conf.work files (01:30:20 AM) djbob: that filled up the disk, so I decided to just delete them all wit h a cron (01:30:29 AM) Tony: lol (01:30:38 AM) djbob: it seemed to be fine, except it started becoming a more major problem as Apache restarts became longer (01:30:46 AM) Tony: it doesn't delete them itself? (01:30:57 AM) djbob: apparently those are created to test httpd.conf rebuilds after each new account, and if the test fails httpd goes down (01:31:01 AM) djbob: and it looks like now (01:31:03 AM) djbob: *no demand moar thingz from a free service plz A real update for you guys will come after djbob has time.

mollock Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Incredible to see how uptime has improved : 2008-12-24 : 04.89% 2008-12-25 : 41.09% 2008-12-25 : 89.54% 2008-12-27 : - 100% - (thx gillam for the hosttracker site)
JcX Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Thanks to Kyougi for the update At least we know what djbob is dealing with (and know that he isn't on a holiday)
Unveiled Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Thanks to Kyougi for the update At least we know what djbob is dealing with (and know that he isn't on a holiday) Wow well I haven't been on for a while now due to these downtimes and errors. My problem still didn't seem to get fixed so I really can't wait for djbob to get back already. I can hardly stand my current host...
bidswa Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 everybody just keeps calm with this downtime? I don't understand. I think I will leave this host and go to another. This downtime is incredible. Since I signed up I didn't even have the chance to build my site. All the time the host is down, the site is not reachable, cpanel is not coming up anymore. How to stay calm? Is this going to change or do I really need to find another host with better performance. If so I will also have to warn other potential new customers with a review about what experience I have made here. Advertisements say over 99% uptime! I think the word should be DOWNtime! I didn't see any improvement until now, now feedback from admins about what is going on and when they expect it to be solved. So it is an open end, it could take a lot of time until this is resolved. Nobody says something straight forward about the failures, about the downtime, about when it is resolved. We just wait? Until when? For what?
mollock Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Last 8 days are over 99% uptime (7 days at 100%, 1 day at 99.65%). I think that djbob has fixed the problem as it was noticed by the secondary admin (Kyougi).
