Ashoat Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I use PHP Designer 2008 (the paid one) for my PHP IDE needs. Generally, you can just use notepad for when you start with PHP. As it is a compiled-on-runtime scripting language, all you do is upload code in a ".php" file into your "public_html" folder and the code will execute.
Wizard Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Haha, I like your sig enter I agree with Sungazer, reminds me of /*You are not expected to understand this.*/
enter Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Thx sungazer, i try years to find the correct notation
wrashed Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 This question is not specefic so any answer will not be complete in any way, you should say programming language in which field, because every task might need a differ programming language.
mindstorm8191 Posted September 25, 2008 Posted September 25, 2008 My favorite language is a little-known one called Blitz3D. Its simple yet powerful enough to do a great deal of things. Its very straight-foreward so it doesn't take long before you can get things running. I've tried C,C++,C#,Java and a few others and it just doesn't have that same effect - it takes a lot of work to get something working. For online coding my favorite is PHP, of course I use of mix of PHP, HTML, mySQL, and sometimes Javascript too. I should use more CSS but its so tough finding decent info.
mollock Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Am I the only Java user here ? I think JSP / Servlet is powerfull and reliable. You can take advantage of a big community (including apache.org) providing loads of open source packages.

Does anyone know what I should be specialising in and the specific skills i need to have?

kvhc128 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I would have to say HTML. It is the only programming language that I know fluently (besides JavaScript and the easy CSS). I am currently learning PHP . How long does it take to learn the basics of PHP anyway? What do you think is the best way to learn it?
Derek Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Am I the only Java user here ? I don't have a favorite language, as I'm no expert in any language (I'm only 13 years old) but the few languages I know are Java and HTML. I don't usually use JavaScript though, I just make something called a RuneScape Private Server in Java. I don't know crazy kinds of stuff in HTML either, but if I were to look at a piece of code I would know what it does, even though it would take 456165461 years to code it myself PS: I like Enter's signature also o.O
Deospeon Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I've been learning Web Designing since I was 7 So till Today, I know HTML/CSS, PHP/MYSQL and ASP.
mknjhill Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I like PHP, i'm no expert, but it is my favorite.
Arion Posted November 21, 2008 Posted November 21, 2008 I have been jumping from language to language, until I came to C. When I want to code some application, I use C all the time. Of course, website related, I use PHP to script.
