Frankie
I couldn't find anything about this in the TOS but just in case, is hotlinking allowed? And when I check the server status page, I see "Server Load 7.29 (1 cpu)" and the red light flashing, what does that mean? Is it something I should be worrying about? Wizard
Depends, what are you trying to hotlink? If you're going to hotlink an image, why not just use a photobucket account instead?
Frankie
If you're going to hotlink an image, why not just use a photobucket account instead? I assume that mean I am allowed to. Anyways, that is what I plan on doing if I can hotlink, the images take up about 90% of the space used on my site.
Ashoat
You can do whatever you want with your bandwidth. Most people don't allow hotlinking because it saps their bandwidth - if you allow hotlinking and people do it, then your bandwidth will quickly run out. Or do you mean hotlinking HelioNet's images? Frankie
I want to hotlink Images to my heliohost site from an outside source (photobucket).
Ashoat
That's a question to ask Photobucket, not us HelioHost doesn't regulate much, and we certainly won't regulate something that has absolutely no bearing on our service.
Frankie
Ah, so that's what they mean when they say no hotlinking in the TOS. I always thought it meant they didn't want you to hotlink things from other websites.
Trippin
Photobucket is BASED on hotlinking. If you are talking about the pictures YOU've uploaded into your photobucket account.
JcX
Noticed that many people in the forum host their avatar/images on photobucket? The hotlink is already done. I once post a tutorial on flash on this forum which hotlink the images from photobucket. http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=3310 I get no reply from that thread..
