Kyougi Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 http://whatsnew.mail.yahoo.com/ Wow, Yahoo! now provides 1GB space... when did this occur? Anywho, thank you Google Corporation for creating a bandwagon that everyone is jumping in! Quote
GameClaw_268 Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 google now has about 2.5 gigs, and it keeps going up. But since smaller HD's are able to hold more info cheaper, its not that hard. Quote
Kyougi Posted May 21, 2005 Author Posted May 21, 2005 Well, I didn't notice my GMail account gain any space, not like 1GB wasn't already enough... Quote
GameClaw_268 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 they're both leaving MSN in the dust... msn only has chat now... unless GMail gets a chat program! That would be awesome! Quote
awesomegamer Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 i think the whole GB thing is trick because they know nobody really uses that much in email and it makes it look like they can hold alot. some people may get up to the 2.5 gigs, but i dont really think theres enough for everybody to get that high because they know that most people wont pass 25 MB. Kyougi Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 Seriously, they "offer" that much, but it's just a gimmic. Quote
Designer Posted June 12, 2005 Posted June 12, 2005 They only offer that because they haven't got a calender, chat service or any very good extras - But i supposed gmail is by far the easiest to use! Quote
praiseR Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Actually, no matter how much space any email website offers, email clients such as Outlook Express and Mozilla Thunderbird is the best. If you think it out carefully, it downloads your mail into your hard disk, and you have some sort of unlimited space. But i know, some people will complain saying if the e.g. gmail inbox is full, how can you still download anymore mail? well the solutions is to delete the mail from your inbox (in your online mail) and then it can start to receive more emails. If you think this post is what everybody already knows, pls feel free NOT to reply to this post. Quote

Well, actually the thing is that if that is the strategy that was to be followed then no one would require bigger mailbox. The idea behind bigger mailboxes is that it can store a lot of your mails, so it wouldn't require you to delete them. Also, if you are out on a vacation, and don't have time/resource to check your mail for a looong period, your mailbox isn't filled up and important mails won't get bounced. Quote
Dragonfire Posted August 5, 2006 Posted August 5, 2006 yahoo mail currently gives you 1 gb while windows live messenger is giving you (i think the same or probably 2gb) .. i like the new layout of windows live messenger but the worst part is that it takes longer to load.. Quote
1337 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Gmail users now have Google Calendar and Google Talk (even integrated into GMail!) for quite a while now Quote
