sini217 Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I was working on the file structure trying to make the URL without the /wp. However, I made a change to the default file structure and now I get the oops message. Some things are still visible like the pictures however all the context that I had created is gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Krydos Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Just use softaculous to install wordpress and instead of the default subdirectory delete the contents of that box and it will install to your domain without a directory.
sini217 Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Thank you for your reply. I did install using softaculous to install word press. I then did some work on my website. I had created several pages, posts published and now when I go back, all I get is "Oops! That Page Can’T Be Found". The top menu is still however when I click on any item on the menu I get;"Not FoundThe requested URL /about/ was not found on this server.Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." I read somewhere that there was an index.html file. I added that, no change. One more observation, the information is still there it just will not display when I try to view the site.
Krydos Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I am not too familiar with wordpress, but I believe all of the data is stored in the database. You could just backup your database, delete the entire messed up directory/file structure, reinstall it, and then restore your database.
