Alert Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I couldn't decide. Anyway, I would like to know, (specifically from people with a plan) how good the uptime is for the free plan. I want to use the mysql database for another site to access, so I was wondering if it had really good uptime for that? I know I have heard that it does have good uptime in the past. Thanks a bunch. -Alert
Demi:Pulse Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 http://www.siteuptime.com/statistics.php?I...mp;UserId=23081 There is the server's uptime statistics. As of writing, HN is at 98.686% uptime.
Demi:Pulse Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 No problem. As far as I know, since HN got a new server, this place has barely been down. If it does go down, there'll be a very good reason for it.
Quantum Media LLC Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I am not sure if you can host a MySql Database here and access it from another site. It's possible. If you are going to do that, cant the server the site that is going to access the database is on host it's own database?
Ashoat Posted July 21, 2007 Posted July 21, 2007 Just to let you know, you have to host a site on HH if you are going to use the Ads plan - either that or put or ads on all your sites' pages.
karath Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 Heliohost has never crashed for me yet, it is quite fast, and yes, the setup is great. So the quality is great, so you don't need to worry.
Quantum Media LLC Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 The only time i have had any issues was when djbob switched servers and the ip's changed, but i think that most of it was caused by my old web provider.
karath Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 And then again, all the downtime was because of server changing... and server changing means better servers right?
1337 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Also, if you want to use a mysql database for another site, consider sites like freemysql.net (MySQL 4) or db4free.net (MySQL 5).
