awesomegamer Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 If I was a director, writer, or actor, no matter how much I got paid, I would put effort into it just because its my own creation. What's with all the crappy movies that have come out in the past 3-4 years? I'm barely motivated to go to the theaters, and it seems their only tactic is changing books into movies. I know that will always happen, but I wasn't inspired to see anything that wasn't originally a book. Every scary movie sucked. The way I feel it, a movie isn't worth watching if it isn't memorable or people forgot about it 3 months after release. Thats fine, but I can't explain... its like these movie have the attitude they want to be classics, and they are trying so hard that they fail. Even the comedies sucked. I don't know what I'm trying to say, maybe you guys can help bring out what it is that I can't figure out. Thanks. -Joe J.
Quantum Media LLC Posted June 29, 2007 Posted June 29, 2007 well, i will agree with you on some points... they do seem to be taking books and turning them into movies, and then making the stupidest and most boring sequels to them.
Gimpro Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Well id agree with that for the most part... Die hard 4 WAS AMAZING
Kyougi Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Movies are the same as they always been, except with fancier effects and things of the sort. You've just grown out of them.
AverageJoe Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 I can definitely tell the difference from an older movie and a newer one. Newer ones are much more sharper, cleaner, brighter, and more realistic(if trying to be). But I do recall something about the movies not making as much money as before. Maybe thats the underling cause.
awesomegamer Posted July 6, 2007 Author Posted July 6, 2007 I'm sure movies make more money than ever (assumption; no source). They just don't seem to be long lasting. Most movies I would consider watching more than once are before year 2000.
AverageJoe Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 I was listening to some show yesterday and they where talking about the top movies that grossed the most of all time. One the highest one was a real old movies, like from 60's. Anyways back then, in the 60's movies costed a fraction of the price to go and see, yet somehow it still is up there with those which cost triple maybe more to see.
Geou Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 To be honest, I haven't seen a big change in movies (except more visual effects and comic book movies), but it could be that most movies nowadays just aren't your type.
Elivmar Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Most movies aren't that bad, except the ones that are based on books. They should never make movies based on books unless they play on sticking to the book. The only good one was Lord Of The Rings. Take a look at movies like Eragon and War of The worlds. Terrible! Horrible acting and strayed from the book. I have no problem with most other movies though.
Kyougi Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Elivmar, I disagree. If you go to a book movie and expect the movie to be true to the book, you'll most likely be disappointed. However, on it's own, those movies are usually pretty good. To be honest, I haven't seen a big change in movies (except more visual effects and comic book movies), but it could be that most movies nowadays just aren't your type. Hey, that's what I said, but reworded
