Uploading self-composed & remix Songs : its legal ??

I hav started remixing songs now-a-days and to be heard want to upload on the website.

Just wanna know if it is completely legal or...?

I would upload it in .ogg format

If you sample a song somebody else wrote you must have permission from them. Basically, you can upload self-composed songs, but you must have permission for remixed ones.

I would suggest that you remix songs that have a Creative Commons license that lets you build upon that work. You can find many songs at the site below.

I had to ask a producing company the same question when i did acoustic solo's of songs that I liked and put on cd's. The only diff. with me was i was not selling these cd's they were gifts to friends and family

Oops, I guess I was wrong. Go with what RK Web Designs said. Just make sure you don't sell your mixes.

I am not interested in selling my remixes or self composed tracks.....

But since I learnt Dj'ing recently I basically want to flaunt myself and get feedback.... who knows I might very well become the youngest DJ of my city !! :
