AverageJoe Posted March 18, 2007 Author Posted March 18, 2007 Gravity is the curvature of space. Quote
arunsonnet Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 Well if light doesn't have mass then how come it can't escape the gravitational pull of a black whole. why does the Earths gravitational affect its path. I support your argument. Quote

I support your argument. Â but it's not really pulling...it has to do with the curvature of space...isn't this a bit obvious? Quote

Helions Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 the curvature of space...isn't this a bit obvious? Could u explain me about it? Â actually, i guess it could go both ways...it could be pulled in, or it could be falling into the curve caused by the black hole... Quote
Helions Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 may be actually, don't listen to me on this this...let's see what others have to say about it... Quote
Maxdamantus Posted March 31, 2007 Posted March 31, 2007 Hmm.. A friend of mine told me that according to Physics, light is made up of particles, which bounce off objects (I understand this). But Chemistry says that it's all wrong. Quote

But Chemistry says that it's all wrong.  well i think there was an experiment done a long time ago where they shot a beam of light onto some gold foil and found that electrons from the foil were knocked out...i'm not too sure on this since it was a while since i've learned this... anyways, i'm not sure if you're saying that light is made up of particles because it bounces off objects or if you're saying that it could be made up of particles because it bounces off objects...remember, sound waves bounce off objects, but they're only waves... arunsonnet Posted April 14, 2007 Posted April 14, 2007 Light exhibits particle character in high energy regions and this is proved by photoelectric effect and black body radiation. Quote

Tbone Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Well i dont think we will be able to go the speed of light anytime soon... Quote
Helions Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Well i dont think we will be able to go the speed of sound anytime soon... i hope you're joking... ever hear of a sonic boom? Quote
AverageJoe Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 lol we can go at least like mach 5 now! Quote
arunsonnet Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 Well i dont think we will be able to go the speed of sound anytime soon... must have mistyped sound instead of light Quote
