Need To Upgrade Mysql Version As It Is Not Working With Myphpadmin

My phpMyadmin is not working.When ever i loggin, it displays blank page.Later it shows an error #1045 Cannot log in to the MySQL server.Also whenever i opened the MySql database it shows the following error:

 

This server is running an unsupported MySQL version (5.1). Ask your system administrator to upgrade MySQL to improve security and features.

The 1045 error can be fixed by changing your cpanel password.

 

The unsupported version message can be safely ignored.
