Snowboardalliance Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 I always use google. I've never even heard of a9
awesomegamer Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 me neither. ill have to give it a try... im guessing http://a9.com but i think domain name rules say it has to be bigger.
PhoenixFlame512 Posted April 20, 2005 Posted April 20, 2005 So that is why none of you like it. You have never tried, let alone heard of it. I mean, how can you judge something you have never heard of? That is like saying your Ford Taurus is the best car in the world, when you have never heard of the Rolls Royce Phantom. And then somebody speaks of the Rolls Royce Phantom, and you say that your Ford Taurus is obviously superior. You should all try A9. You can bookmark pages with the search engine, have diaries for the particular pages, et cetera. Also, the searching is more intuitive, with more choices. People have complained about A9 being spyware because it can be personalized, but this can be remedied by not applying for a personal account. Then you can use the search engine without worrying about people collecting information about you.
awesomegamer Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 thats just it, we didnt judge, i never put it down, i just didnt do the reseach before so i ignored it in the vote.

After looking at a9, I still think that google is the "most effective" because I don't need the extras of a9. I'm not saying a9 is bad, but google is most effective for me.
awesomegamer Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 i agree, things can be better for certain things, but it doesnt mean the other is bad.

Exactly, for me, a9 is just google with several things I don't need. Of course a9 would be good to search movies or books becuase it uses IMD and amazon. But I don't need online bookmarks etc. It's all preference really.
awesomegamer Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 google can find prices and stuff.. it has features, you just have to click them.
Kyougi Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 Just depends on what I'm looking for. In some occasions, I find everything I need on google, but sometimes I don't. This usually deals with information and facts I'm trying to look up. In that case, Yahoo! would be my choice.
GameClaw_268 Posted May 22, 2005 Posted May 22, 2005 I've tried Yahoo once, and got about 30 pages of the exact same site posted over and over again... it was weird...
praiseR Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 if im not wrong there already some (java)scripts out there which allows you to do that. maybe this site has some?: http://www.javascriptsource.com
Ruze Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Google is what i use for all of my searches. I'm not gonna say it's better tho because i've never used most of the other choices.
Kashif Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 i normally stick with yahoo, cause i can look away when im typing it into the browser, lol
