But Taiwan has better relations with Japan and the United States, which could supply them with more high-tech weaponry.

In today's world, you can't even trust your own allies - so I think that Taiwan probably has an army................

Of course it has an army! It even has an air force, paratroopers, marines, et cetera. It is merely smaller than China's. But it uses weaponry and vehicles supplied from the United States, France, and other nations.

No matter how unlikely it may seem to you, there is a high probability that it will happen. The Taiwan Strait is often regarded as one of the most dangerous places in the world because of the tensions between the People's Republic of China and Taiwan.

That's true... There hava a chance of this tensions become a war. Altough all the other countries would be heavily against and try to intervane to pacify the 2 countries

And the other countries would get involved too. Chances are some of those countries have nuclear weapons. So - a world war. And then the world gets destroyed. The Chinese leaders are not so stupid as to destroy the Earth because of some island that they don't really need!!
