zoepiff Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Host: johnny.heliohost.orgFTP username: kiskeya@zoepiff.comFTP server: ftp.zoepiff.comFTP & explicit FTPS port: 21 Hey, I am a new Heliohost user having trouble accessing my FTP (FileZilla), although I am very familiar with FileZilla and can currently access my Cpanel just fine. I have been struggling wiht this issue for a serval days now, the error specifically is: "EAI_NODATA - No address associated with nodename" Things I've tried to resolove the issue (in order, if it matters):Import FTP Config file (First, the newly created acc. Secondly, I tried the default "Special FTP Account" which username is simply "zoepiff")Waited 2 - 3 days, tried FTP againChecked if Nameservers have been correctly submitted and propagated (both ns1.heliohost.org & ns2.heliohost.org seem cleared)Tried manually creating the FTP & SFTP accLost hope, and tried installing wordpress via Softaculous. Times out at 95% most times, error(s): Could not make the query numbered : 6, MySQL Error No : 2013, MySQL Error : Lost connection to MySQL server during query.Various attempts via FTP again, this time at different times of dayTried entering with & Without FTP/SFTP PortsDeleted FTP acc and created a new one (kiskeya@zoepiff.com)Also, tried various settings/options: Active mode, USERNAMES: kiskeya & kiskeya@zoepiff.heliohost.org, etcObservations:Zoepiff.com displayed the index page yersterday and the previous day; It not longer displays this though but I think this maybe because I removed Heliohost's 'A' Record from my name registar(?). I removed it because I've read a post here explaining that Heliohost has the A record set automatically and only the nameservers need to be taken care of. Not sure what happened here...NameCheap (my domain resgistar) doesn't seem to allow the nameserver url - only nameserver IP addresses. After a quick search I was able to find these and assume they are correct: ns1.heliohost.org - 65.19.143.3; ns2.heliohost.org - 64.62.211.133. So for example, via NameCheap it would just be "ns1.zoepiff.com" and I would have to point that to 65.19.143.3.I can access my Cpanel either through Heliohost.org or Site.com/cpanel (zoepiff.com/cpanel). No issues logging in so I don't think it's a firewall issue(?)Honestly, I think It may be something on my part that I am just overlooking or simply not seeing. I strongly believe it has to do with the nameservers but I only have user experience with FilaZilla and not so much techinecally inclined to troubleshoot. I would love any assitance regarding this issue, or even just a point in the right direction. I have been completely shutout for a serveral days, so i'm stumped. Thanks for taking the time to read/adress my issue!
Byron Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 You still need to point your domain to our name servers: ns1.heliohost.orgns2.heliohost.org http://bybyron.net/php/tools/dns_records.php?domain=zoepiff.com&rec=NS
zoepiff Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) Hey Byron, how are you? Thanks for the assistance, greatly appreciate it man. As stated I have pointed my domain (zoepiff.com) to the Heliohost nameservers using these IP addresses: ns1.heliohost.org - 65.19.143.3ns2.heliohost.org - 64.62.211.133 I am assuming their correct but I also see via your site that my DNS changes have failed to take place. Personally, would you consider this a propagation issue? I took a couple snapshots to give you a visual of what I mean below: Thanks again for your time, byron. Bryon, heads up - I may have found the solution: Within the NameCheap Dashboard, the NameCheap support knowlegdebase directs users to register new nameservers under "Nameserver Registration" but in order to place the whole Nameserver (i.e. ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org) you'll have to enter those within the link titled "Transfer DNS to webhost" under 'General'. You can find the 'General' section on the same sidebar as you'd find "Nameserver Registration" which is conviently placed underneath 'General' in the 'Advanced Options' section. I've made the appropriate changes so I'll let you know if this fixes the issue and allows me access into my FTP acc. Edited January 25, 2015 by zoepiff
Byron Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Just use the name server only and not the ip addresses Looks like your up now. Clear your cache if you don't see your directory listing. http://zoepiff.com
zoepiff Posted January 25, 2015 Author Posted January 25, 2015 Yes, everything is up and was running smoothly last night before I called it a night. I was able to finally access my ftp acc and install Wordpress manually. But, this morning I am having issues logging in to my cpanel through my website (zoepiff.com/cpanel), as well as even pull up the site itself (zoepiff.com) or login to wordpress (zoepiff.com/wp-login.php). Although, I was able to access all of these last night. I've tried Chrome & FireFox, but still end up with the same issues. I can however, enter my Cpanel via heliohost.org and can still access my FileZilla acc. Thoughts?
Byron Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 It's probably because your on the Johnny server. Johnny can be really slow at times. If you don't need JAVA, ASP.NET, or RubyonRails, then you really should be on the Stevie server.
