miccadoin Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 hey, i recently bought a posting standard site, i am setting it up with soho site builder. i don't know if you handle this but when i go to my website it just comes up with a list of folders and no pages that i have set up. please help(if you can) cheers
surfcss Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Your start page must be either: index.php, index.htm or index.html
miccadoin Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 where do i find the start page , i have some index.htm, index.html and index.php files in my sohoadmin folder but i don't know if they're the start page
surfcss Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Are you using a CMS (Content Management System)? Try this: http://yourdomain.com/install/
1337 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Put all web pages in the /public_html folder. Any files outside of there cannot be seen. And you need to create an index.(html/htm/php) file to have a start page on your site.
miccadoin Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 Are you using a CMS (Content Management System)? Try this: http://yourdomain.com/install/ yer i'm using yohoadmin Put all web pages in the /public_html folder. Any files outside of there cannot be seen. And you need to create an index.(html/htm/php) file to have a start page on your site. do i need to put the index in public html aswell
Ashoat Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 All things you upload to public_html will be show after the first slash in the domain name. For instance, if something is in the folder /public_html/index/index.php, it will appear at domain.com/index/index.php.
miccadoin Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 ok, i fixed the index problem, but now when i go to ad a mySQL Database it says it makes it but i go to select it and nothing is there any ideas???
Ashoat Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 The SQL service says that you have one database on your account: micca_sope1. Make sure you understand the distinction between databases and usernames.
miccadoin Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 yer i found that is that my database?? i need to define my -database -dbusername -dbpassword and default end user login -username -password then i'm sweet
miccadoin Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 ok i worked out everything i just said. but i click submit and get this error: ERROR! - Unable to write config file. Try setting permissions on the '/sohoadmin' directory to 777 (chmod -R a+rw sohoadmin). i've gone into my filemanager and changed all of the config and sohoadmin files permissions to 777 but it still doesn't work.
miccadoin Posted December 10, 2006 Author Posted December 10, 2006 is there a way to change all of the files in file manager at once (like select all)
surfcss Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 The filemanager didn't change my permissions correctly the last time I tried. Use a program called SmartFTP. It works perfectly for uploading files and changing permissions.
miccadoin Posted December 11, 2006 Author Posted December 11, 2006 (edited) how do i get this smartftp ??? Spam Edited December 11, 2006 by Kyougi
