Ktag Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Is it good to work with a remote database instead of local databases for extended storage ?
Ice IT Support Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 A local database is usually fastest and recommended for most applications. However, some people have external applications that access their databases. In those cases it's a better idea to have an externally (preferably cloud) hosted database, so in the event HelioHost should have a service interruption, your external applications are still functional. 1
Ktag Posted August 20, 2013 Author Posted August 20, 2013 Heliohost presents only 500 MB of storage, if i want more than that for my apps which external free database hosting should i use ?
Ice IT Support Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 Databases take up very little space. I have never looked into database hosting. Perhaps other users could share their favorite database hosting providers? I'm sure searching "free MySQL hosting" on Google will yield decent results.
