what would be the best language and software to make an online game like Runescape?

a MMORPG, or just a massive online game, would need Java. (Runescape uses java).

 

Or, most 1 player games (like miniclip) are made with flash.

um... he means something that you play in a browser window... but there are registered features on Gamemaker that allow you to make MMORPG's(not to easy, but...) *hint* *hint* (voice inside your head: Pay the $20 registration fee... Paaaaaaaay iiiiitttttt....)

anyway, registration isn't really that much when you compare it with other programs.. you could use c++ but it'd be harder.

Well, after my game Defense Corp, and my Secret project, I don't really use it all that much. I haven't worked on Defense Corp since I got grounded, but I'm not anymore(btw- I snuck on in that period with my dads password. lol.)

slightly off topic, but what does the mmo in mmorpg stand for? my best guess is massivley multiplayer online, but I dont really know.

if you didnt know, the in-built programming language that game maker has is called gml (game maker language) and it looks a lot like java script to me
