izver Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Hi! I have a minecraft server at my home comptuer and I need it to acces the mysql database of phpbb forum on heliohost. What settings do I use? (host name, port...) Thanks!
Tjoene Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 You need to first allow your computer to connect with the MySQL on this server. For this you need to add your IP in the Remote MySQL section if cPanel. Then you need to fill these settings in your MC server. Host: stevie.heliohost.org Port: 3306 (I think)

izver Posted October 16, 2011 Author Posted October 16, 2011 Ok. But I have a dynamic IP. I tried using no-ip, but it for some reason doesn't work. Do you have any idea how to make noip work, both for people trying to connect to my server (ofc you cannot know that); more importantly how to set no-ip to work with remote mysql? Cheers!
Tjoene Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Maybe this could help. A friend told me this trick for setting up an home web-server. http://dyn.com/dns/dyndns-free/ This service allows you to create a host name that points to the IP address you give up. You will get a URL that you can remember. And when surf to that URL, it will take you to the (dynamic) IP address.
