Blacknight Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 Hi Firstly THANKS! Heliohost, you offer a fantastic opportunity for coders of all levels to explore creating your own webspace and for FREE! After consulting the FAQ's i found this Can I have more than one account? No, it's one account per user. My question is, if there is a second user that wishes to create an account from my house, is that allowed?
cl58 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 The simple answer would be no since IPs are logged to prevent duplicate accounts. However, exceptions can and have been made, but the decision would be djbob's (our root administrator). Would you like me to escalate this to him so he can decide?

I would appreciate the offer of escalating this to djbob. Thanks again.
cl58 Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 This support request is being escalated to our root admin. @djbob - Is this allowed?
jje Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 I have made an exception for your account. Please go ahead and tell the second user to create his account. Make sure that by 'second user' you mean 'second individual' (ie. not yourself). @djbob - I just changed the Registration IP; am I allowed to do this?
Blacknight Posted August 9, 2011 Author Posted August 9, 2011 Please go ahead and tell the second user to create his account. Thanks jje, cl58, djbob and all the Heliohost team.
Ashoat Posted August 9, 2011 Posted August 9, 2011 jje: Yeah, that's fine. There's actually a list of IPs from which we ignore that rule in the settings table, but the settings module in the ACP is long broken.
jje Posted August 10, 2011 Posted August 10, 2011 Glad your problem got solved! Please spare a few minutes to take our brief survey:http://feedback.heliohost.org/Your participation in this survey is greatly appreciated.
