[Solved] Ruby - Bundle Install failure ("yaml.h" missing?)
sz13 posted a topic in Escalated Requests
Running "bundle install" for my Ruby on Rails project (using the button on the Rails App page in Plesk), and after running awhile, I eventually get the following error: ... Gem::Ext::BuildError: ERROR: Failed to build gem native extension. current directory: /home/sigma013.heliohost.org/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/gems/psych-5.1.2/ext/psych /opt/plesk/ruby/3.2.2/bin/ruby extconf.rb checking for yaml.h... no yaml.h not found *** extconf.rb failed *** Could not create Makefile due to some reason, probably lack of necessary libraries and/or headers. Check the mkmf.log file for more details. You may need configuration options. Provided configuration options: --with-opt-dir --without-opt-dir --with-opt-include --without-opt-include=${opt-dir}/include --with-opt-lib --without-opt-lib=${opt-dir}/lib64 --with-make-prog --without-make-prog --srcdir=. --curdir --ruby=/opt/plesk/ruby/3.2.2/bin/$(RUBY_BASE_NAME) --with-libyaml-source-dir --without-libyaml-source-dir --with-yaml-0.1-dir --without-yaml-0.1-dir --with-yaml-0.1-include --without-yaml-0.1-include=${yaml-0.1-dir}/include --with-yaml-0.1-lib --without-yaml-0.1-lib=${yaml-0.1-dir}/lib64 --with-yaml-0.1-config --without-yaml-0.1-config --with-pkg-config --without-pkg-config --with-libyaml-dir --without-libyaml-dir --with-libyaml-include --without-libyaml-include=${libyaml-dir}/include --with-libyaml-lib --without-libyaml-lib=${libyaml-dir}/lib64 To see why this extension failed to compile, please check the mkmf.log which can be found here: /home/sigma013.heliohost.org/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/extensions/x86_64-linux/3.2.0-static/psych-5.1.2/mkmf.log extconf failed, exit code 1 Gem files will remain installed in /home/sigma013.heliohost.org/vendor/bundle/ruby/3.2.0/gems/psych-5.1.2 for inspection. Is there anything I need to do to have `yaml.h` installed? This particular ruby app is pretty much using the default rails setup, and the `psych` gem seems to be part of it. Thanks in advance! My subdomain is `sigma013` on Tommy -

"The easiest way to deploy a Ruby on Rails application on HelioHost... is creating a new domain with the document root [Home Directory]/app_name/public" These lines from http://wiki.helionet.org/Deploying_a_Rails_application_on_HelioHost made me try to create an addon-domain with cpanel. There is a hint on the creation page: "Hint: This feature must be enabled for your account before you can use it. Addon domains will not function unless the domain name is registered with a valid registrar and configured to point to the correct DNS servers." The hint flew far above my head and my try at creating an addon domain ended in even less comprehensible (for me) message: "Using nameservers with the following IPs: 174.137.135.164,77.245.48.84 Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver." Help me, please. yours` sehrguey

dear all, To deploy depot app at my heliohost domain I: 1) uploaded app files via filemanager, 2) followed steps for creating symlink from /home/depot/public to /home/public_html/depot by pasting to cronjob commandline "ln -s /home/sehrguey/depot/public /home/sehrguey/public_html/depot >/dev/null 2>&1", 3) created .htaccess file in /home/app/public containing "RailsBaseURI /depot", then I directed browser to http://depot.maht.heliohost.org/ and got "can't find the server at depot.maht.heliohost.org" error. Can you help?

I'm on johnny, and following this guide: http://www.heliohost.org/home/features/languages/ruby, I get the error "No supported version of rails found." when I try to make a rails application. When I search for ruby gems to install, no results are displayed, and I try to list available ruby gems I get the error: "There was a problem fetching the list of available modules." If I list System Ruby Gems it says that rails 3.1.3 is installed, even though everywhere it says that rails 3 isn't available on HelioHost.
