  1. Interesting you mentioned that, spacekid, since in a IM conversation with him, it went like this:

    [01:15:01 AM] Lappy512:

                  http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=613

[01:15:28 AM] Lappy512: im not sure, but that's against KL's

rules, not sure about yours, let me check

[01:16:00 AM] Lappy512: no, you don't have a "no hacking" policy

[01:16:46 AM] DJBOB: i do have a no illegal stuff policy :-"

[01:16:51 AM] DJBOB: but technically, this is illegal

    [01:16:53 AM] DJBOB: *lega

    [01:16:54 AM] DJBOB: *legal

[01:16:57 AM] DJBOB: so, its all goo

    [01:16:59 AM] DJBOB: *good

[01:17:01 AM] Lappy512: hacking is not

    [01:17:36 AM] Lappy512: i don't think hacking is legal

[01:17:59 AM] DJBOB: it can be

[01:18:04 AM] DJBOB: for instance, hacking yourself

    [01:18:12 AM] DJBOB: also:

[01:18:36 AM] DJBOB: at the bottom of the home page of HN

[01:18:36 AM] DJBOB: Member posts or opinions do not

necessarily reflect those of Helio Networks and are the

                  sole property of the member.

[01:18:50 AM] DJBOB: which totally protects me

[01:19:17 AM] Lappy512: but couoldn't you get sued for allowing

this to get posted and circulated?

[01:19:48 AM] DJBOB: no. because members agree that all posts

are their sole responsibility. which means i am not

                  responsible for it.

  2. Well, even though it was the "standard IPB crap", you need to pay more attention. Why give misleading advice? Change the agreement, then, if you are not willing to follow it.

How would you insult a person without making it offend a person? If you say "god does not exist", that's okay if it offends a religious person, but if you say "Lappy512 is bad", that is made to offend me, and I would advise you to take it off.

  3. Okay, speaking as a canidate for Helio Politics, I cannot allow this to happen.

If you admins actually read your own Terms and Conditions, It goes as following:

Please remember that we are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this BB. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this BB.

You guys have any right to remove these offending messages, not letting other members just wander off trying to remove the messages. If you can't try harder to moderate your forum, I don't know.

  4. Dear HelioNet Members,

The Helio Networks and PixelRift have made a merger today. Don't worry, HN will stay HN, and HH will stay HH. However, I few changes will be made, which I believe will be to the best:

    1. We will be using a VPS!! This VPS has already been bought (today). We will also have everything streamlined using CPanelApp.

    2. Will, the owner of PixelRift, will be instated as an admin and co-owner.

    3. This is one you might not all like... ads will be placed between posts on the forums. Good news is, you can remove the ads with an item bought with 1000 Helions.

All these changes will happen soon! Also, I would like you to know that if you don't like this, I will cancel the merger. However, I doubt you won't like it, and I think you will find the merger a positive thing ;)

    Where's the remove ads item?

Yah HerLoss, but its true. If you read the Google rules... meh, you don't wanna do that, lol. But Will got busted for doing it... I donno.

Don't worry, no popups ;). In fact, in terms of ads, we are having around the same amount. We still have only one ad at the index, but we now will have zero ads in add-reply pages, and two ads on content pages. Which averages out to only one ad per page! Plus, the ad up top will be smaller, so in truth, we actually are having less ads!

The ad on top is not smaller yet, and there are still ads in the add reply files...

  5. As I said on KL,

Well, there are some advantages. Like, If you have double the members, you probably have even more posts, since there's more active members at any given time.

One thing is that there are many people on both of the boards, such as:

myscrnnm, Korps Commander, HerLoss, Genesis/Shadownite, DJBOB, Gamemaster_268, /\/\/\/, Ali, and me. Whew! That's a lot! That would solve me from logging into 4 boards every day. :)

But, on the downside, DJBOB and I will need to find a way to transfer Helions and divide income on ads; and that could be a problem.

Wait...I just posted the exact same thing on KL and HN. See my point?

  6. Well, it might be even pointless to have two different forums that everyone browses on, since it takes fire to make fire, right? That means the more members, the more activity. Maybe we should merge forums, but we probably can't because of ads and all those complications...

  7. @lappy512 :

yes there's my fault I send all those points to mini just in order to be saved from the blames that i had done anything wrong with the Board; BUT AAHHH!! THAT WAS USELESS, I WAS BEING FRAMED AND BANNED AND THERE'S NO BODY O SUPPORT ME.

Relax, max. You are right, I did act before thinking, but you can see why. I just found out my site was hacked, and all evidence points to you, so I banned you.

If you really are innocent, I'm sorry. However, I am sure that I have not sent you any Helions. The possibility exists that you were framed, and that my account was hacked, and forced to make that donation.

After re-examing the logs, I find you are correct... the hacker did force me to donate you some money. But other things also point to you being the hacker:

max123 Donation of 2147475677 sent to mini.

Either you acting upon the hack by giving money to this "mini" person, or this was also part of the frame.

I'm going to do some more investigating, and I'll get back to you. Rest assured that I am not framing you. But someone else could be...

read the part that you yourself quoted.

  8. Why don't we give max one more chance, since he has posted a bit, and as long as no more hacking occurs, he should be able to stay. Also, as many have pointed out, including Gamemaster, there aren't IP logs for IBStore, so there's no solid evidence that he hacked this board. Only that I propose that he can only have the points that he made, not points from donations, since if everyone bunched up everyone's points, then we have 90,000 points, or enough points for 15 domains, which would be detrimental to DJBOB.

since he has 139 posts right now, let him have 1390 Helions, and subtract the amount he used to buy hosting. And don't let him get donations, but that's it.

What do you guys think? If there's more hacking, I say, yes, ban.

  9. you can see that the picture comes from http://krone.physik.unizh.ch/~stadel/pictu...xOpenJuly03.jpg

Then, you can go to http://krone.physik.unizh.ch/~stadel/

I am the principal author of the simulation code PKDGRAV and co-developer of its hydrodynamics extension called GASOLINE. PKDGRAV runs efficiently on very large parallel computers and has produced some of the world's highest resolution simulations of cosmic structures. When I arrived in Zurich, world-class simulation work in astrophysics could not be supported by the available computing resources in Switzerland, which led us into designing and building a new 288 CPU parallel computer called the "zBox". Our novel design has proven itself; the zBox has been running for over 2.5 years with exceptional stability, and has enabled fundamental research in astrophysics. We are now building (and already using) the "zBox2", a machine with 500 CPUs and a more than 5-fold increase in computing capability.

The machine is called the Zbox. More information here: http://krone.physik.unizh.ch/~stadel/zBox/

  10. i was just browsing the bluehost site, i should have signed up as a affiliate and referred you ($65) but oh well, since if i tried to do that you would most definitely sign up for spoono host... :D

Yeah, and i heard there was a 2.0.1 unlimited trial too...

  11. yes the offer is still valid. And also, im not doing the AI competition anymore.

BTW at that time I was in china. And I am reviving this topic at the request of KC.

(And the AI is improved; as It doesn't say "oops, i wasn't paying attention" anymore)
