    Hi All,

I tried to access web pages on my domain today but was presented with an error message from my ISP stating "website cannot be found".  I found my usual FTP connection didn't seem to be working, I tried to create a new connection but this didn't seem to work either.  And I also found I was unable to access my email account.

However, logging in to my account and accessing the cpanel from the main heliohost.org page appears to work as expected, from here I am able to access File Manager and Webmail.  So the issue seems to be related to being unable to access anything which contains my domain name.

Is anyone able to assist?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,

Given the problems with johnny, I have been unable to log into my account.  I decided to move to one of the other servers, but I now get a message stating my account is suspended.

Would it be possible for you to simply delete my account on johnny, thus allowing me to create a new account on one of the other servers using the same username and domain?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,

When I attempt to log into my account on johnny I am presented with a message to inform me that my account has been suspended for inactivity.  I accept that not logging in regularly will result in an account flagged as being inactive, however, I logged in to my cPanel yesterday, so I am not quite sure why I am unable to log in today.

    Please can anyone assist?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. Thanks for all the updates, I guess the best workaround when using a Contact form is to capture details of any email addresses entered on your site, and then to email people individually from an external email address.

  5. Thanks for the response.  Heliohost mail servers being blocked by Microsoft would explain this issue.  If it helps, as requested, I have copied below the body of the returned email (I have removed my hotmail email address).

    Hi,

I've recently recreated my account on johnny, I have been testing my email and it doesn't appear to be working as I would expect.

My heliohost email account (demon666@johnny.heliohost.org) is able to receive emails from any number of different accounts as expected, however, if I try to send emails to any hotmail or gmail accounts, they don't arrive and nor is there any kind of error message to inform me what has happened to these emails.  If I try to send emails using the php mail function, gmail accounts are able to receive them fine; yahoo accounts don't receive them and nor is there any kind of error message; and with hotmail accounts my heliohost account receives an email from Mail Delivery System with the subject: Mail Delivery Failed: Returning to Sender.

Does anyone know of a way of sending emails to hotmail, yahoo, or gmail accounts from heliohost?  This functionality would be really beneficial when creating a simple Contact form.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Apologies for sounding impatient, but can someone offer any assistance to the issue I have described above?

In short, I am unable to create a new database because apparently it already exists, however, I can't seem to see this database anywhere, and I am unable to manually run any commands to force a deletion.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,

  8. Hi,

When I go into phpMyAdmin, there only appears to be one database I created present (demon666_world), which would imply that the database demon666_contactdb does not exist.  When I go into MySQL Databases from cPanel, again, I can only see the database demon666_world present, but when I attempt to create a new database with the name of demon666_contactdb, I get an error message informing me that this database already exists, even though I cannot see it anywhere, so I am not sure why I am presented with this error.

    Cheers,

    Hi,

I've recreated my account on johnny, and now I am in the process of setting up my databases.  However, I seem unable to create a database (demon666_contactdb) because it's says it already exists, but I can't seem to see this database anywhere.  If this database does indeed exist, I would like it removed.

    Please can anyone assist?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

I have just checked and seem unable to access any of my MySQL databases, I am presented with a message stating Internal Server Error.

    The affected databases include:

    demon666_demo2
    demon666_myDB
    demon666_myasset
    demon666_northwind
    demon666_sakila
    demon666_sakila2
    demon666_testdb
    demon666_wishlist
    demon666_wpdb
    demon666_wpdb2

Furthermore, I can't check these databases in phpMyAdmin, as I can't seem to log into cPanel as I get the same error message: Internal Server Error.

    Please can someone assist?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

Earlier today I received an email informing me that as I hadn't logged into cpanel for thirty days my account was being suspended. A link was provided in the email if I wanted to reactivate my account. I clicked on this link, reactived my account, and I was once more able to access my web pages.

However, I am no longer able to connect to any databases, from a web page I get an error of "Connection refused".

Furthermore, from the cpanel, I am unable to access phpMyAdmin at all, I am presented with the following error:

#2002 Cannot log in to the MySQL server

    Please can anyone assist?

    Thanks in advance.

  12. Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Further to your last post, I can confirm that I am able to access my databases via phpmyadmin.

The change you recommended (replacing "localhost" with "127.0.0.1") does appear to work.

Quick question: does this mean that from now on the use of "localhost" in all php scripts should be replaced with "127.0.0.1", or is this just a temporary solution?

    Thanks in advance.

  14. Hi All,

I would like to thank everyone's help, this issue appears to have been resolved and I am now able to access my MySQL databases from the web pages.

I would also like to add that, further to the recommendations in earlier posts, in order to get everything working as before, I had to delete and re-create the database users first.

    Thanks everyone.

    D
