  1. Boy! Could we have used this (and lyricsfreak.com along with countless lyrics.com type websites) back in the late 80's early 90's! (showing age here *gasp*) when cassette tapes didn't print lyrics and the guitar rags didn't have many songs in the back. Try listening to songs like Black Crowes - Hard to Handle or Nirvana - Come As You Are and write them out. one word ....to start. Awesome. For musicians there's also plugins that can change pitch for bands that tune down, up, change tempo without changing the pitch of the tune all the while memorizing the settings per song. For medley ideas the tempo changer is great in order to see if speeding up one song to match the tempo or another without making it sound weird is priceless. It's called Pacemaker Plugin for Winamp. I used it frequently to practice songs for the band I played in that tuned down a 1/2 step.
  2. My son joined a chess club in 2nd grade and was pretty darned good. He still beats me more often than I beat him. I remember running (almost literally) out and getting The Search for Bobby Fisher when he joined the club as I remembered it was such a good movie (for a movie) and that's all I knew about Bobby Fisher. We still watch it whenever it shows on television. This thread makes me want to grab it again. ....back to work. sigh
  3. Actually, being dipped in cheese sauce would be new. New and exciting, new and exciting.....I'm trying to learn and understand as much Access in 2 days as possible, import a Form and DB into Frontpage to work with a website and going blind. Caffeine (which IS one of the four food groups to which I sacrifice grains and breads) and a flat screen has me blinded along with the Oakenfold, 70s funk and techno trifecta auditory onslaught. Later on will be hopefully getting a better handle on a banner and top/left side image map pending a fax coming in from the shop with how many pages this site will be so I know how many pages it will be. If I change my mind about the left side before then it's on to something else for that area. Life in general? WNBA season starts this Saturday night, went to the tip off party night before last and had a blast. Nothing else on the calendar until the online Disturbed online concert on the 29th for me. Well, as soon as the website is done I start heavy study for my A+ cert and job hunting.
  4. *shudders* I might GET that one someday.
  5. Howdy, I'm new here. I've done a few websites over the past seven years and after doing a job at a print shop I let it "slip" that I was a webmaster for five years ending early/mid 2000's and the company I am working for has never had a web presence. So, it's gleefully time to fire this up again. Unfortunately, I haven't had a home on the internet in some time and the languages have all improved/advanced/changed and there's loads to learn. Needing to publish and test a password protected snippet of the site I searched for a space that can handle ASP and Frontpage Extensions as well as other things later on....and I give a big YeeHaw landing here. Seeing that I'm putting my bass guitar down and getting my geek on again (changing careers) a personal site will be following soon after but business before pleasure as they say. Speaking of business and this being the Introductions forum: So far in this life I've been a professional bass player/teacher, Certified Medical Assistant, Sales of many things, Mother of a thus far 13 year old, Webmaster, SysAdmin, Wife of 10 years, gamer since I was 6 years old.
