  1. Thanks! How long does it take for this to happen? Just wondering, I can wat for days if need be.

EDIT: the CNAME record is ghs.google.com.d-games.co.cc - this isn't going to work. Some oher people have experienced this: if it won't allow you to put in ghs.google.com. then you put in ghs.l.google.com. Sorry if I'm sounding bossy, I'm trying not to.

  2. I'm signing up for Google Apps. I'd like the mail page to be on my site (mail.d-games.co.cc) but I need to change the CNAME records for that. The CNAME record for mail.d-games.co.cc would need to be ghs.google.com.

    3. Find the CNAME settings and enter the following as the CNAME value or alias:

    mail

    4. Set the CNAME destination to the following address:

    ghs.google.com

Thanks for at least reading this. I know it'll be a lot of trouble to do this for me though, and don't expect it to be done. I'll understand of you can't do it.

Also, my CPanel username is julianmh.

  3. Anarchy is impossible under it's definition. An anarchy is a government with no government. If there is no government, then a body of people or an individual will step up and govern the country. But, it would be pretty cool if there was a real anarchy. I just wouldn't want to live there, for fear of being killed.

  4. I'm registering for a domain with eu.org. I've found the nameservers I need to use (ns3.heliohost.org and ns4.heliohost.org) and can't seem to figure out what's going on. I've added the domain under addon domains in CPanel, and this is what eu.org gives me:

    DNS query result
    ---- Basic checks

---- Servers and domain names check

    ---- Checking server addresses

    Getting IP for NS3.HELIOHOST.ORG...64.235.55.102
    Getting IP for NS4.HELIOHOST.ORG...64.235.55.103
---- Checking NS records for "DESTRUCTO.CA.EU.ORG" on NS3.HELIOHOST.ORG

Error: NS list on NS3.HELIOHOST.ORG differs from the list you provided.
    1 error(s), stopping.

It seems that djbob has to do something, but I don't know... Any help?

  5. Ok, so I can setup SSL encryption without having to purchase a certificate, what i've gathered is that a certificate is just to say who you really are and it is checked by companies such as verisign

This server doesn't have a dedicated IP, so CPanel won't let you install a SSL Certificate. That's why I linked to that topic -- it should have let you know that.

  6. I agree. Pink Flyd is an amazing band -- even so amazing that there was a mozie based off one of their albums. They have music that will pull you in. They're also a band that sounds best LOUD. My favorite PF song is Eclipse from Dark Side of the Moon.

  7. I have a Sansa e260 with Rockbox. I find that the Sansas are better that say, ipods, because they cost less. I used to have a something Trio, but that was small. Most MP3 Players can't use Rockbox, so that's something I'll look for when buying an MP3 player. Rockbox is custimizable, supports more audio formats and has plugins. You can even play Doom with rockbox! :P

  8. Hi

I've noticed that you offer SSL manager, does this mean I can run a shopping cart and information will be encrypted by ssl technology and what is an ssl certificate

    http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=3177

That explains about ssl encryption on heliohost. An ssl certificate is a certificate per se, and it tells people that the web site is encrypted. To install one, you generally need a dedicated IP. There are many people out there who will sell you ssl certificates. Just do a quick search here.

  9. I don't really trust any of you. None of you have any experience with Linux server admin. People go to college to learn how to handle these things - I highly doubt any of you would know what to do if the server crashed.

Yes, people do. But some of us could learn easily. For a while, I had linux on my laptop, and got to being able to understanding how to use bash fairly quickly. I could learn how to read system dumps pretty quickly too, but I haven't had any reason to. And if I did learn, I'd be glad to help out. And I wouldn't want a cent. I enjoy this kind of stuff -- I'd be glad to and want to do it for free, at least until I can get a job doing it. Anyway, I definately would not be your first choice in helping out. No chance. And about the coding: I've learned C++. I've made programs. I'd probably have a game almost finished right now if my computer didn't mess up. PHP would be easy to learn, and it would even help me learn if I helped out with something like this.
