hey, i've been on vacation for a while , however i've obviously since gotten back, and i remembered that i still needed to set this account up, however, i enter in my stuff in the stevie signup page, but I always get this error http://puu.sh/4QcW

I can only assume it's because i'm using the same email & helionet account, does anyone have any idea what i need to do to get it to work (i've tried it at least 10 times)

Windows 7 simply because you know everything out there on the internet will support it, i run ubuntu on my laptop and it's a total pain always looking for alternatives and trying to get something to run.

the forum said i was using a proxy when i'm not so... couldn't check that out, but the rest of the site looked pretty good

i like the look of it so far, but there's no way i'm switching to it when there's nothing but a file manager

Edit: i know it's going to get updated, just at it's current state it's not ready

Ok, so basically i need to own another domain and I can park it so both addresses, that and my heliohost domain, will work.

the wiki made it seem like i could, so is the wiki wrong?

What is a Parked Domain?

A parked domain is a domain which is the same as another domain. An example of a parked domain is that 'mysite.heliohost.org' is the SAME as 'otherdomain.heliohost.org'. Parked Domains allow you to complete the task quickly and efficiently - there is even the option of redirecting a domain to another website.

 

How can I create a Parked Domain?

After logging into your personal cPanel, click on the 'Parked Domains' button and enter the domain you wish to park into the text box provided, and submit the form. After that, navigate to your domain registrar's website and configure your domain with the following nameservers: ns1.heliohost.org ns2.heliohost.org The parked domain you have just setup will be automatically be configured to reflect your public_html directory. If you want it to reflect a different directory then you will need to configure an Addon Domain. You can also configure the domain to be redirected to another URL, just click on the 'Manage Redirection' button and enter the URL you wish to redirect.

Darn, I still can't use Google+ because I put my real age (17) on my account and they apparently don't allow minors to use their service.

 

Why would you ever put your real age on anything?

haha, i've used an incorrect age for just about every service on the internet, what business do they have knowing your real birth date if it's just for age verification?

I think it must have been done to fight copyright violations

there are other ways to stop copyright violations, companies already send take down requests on content on those websites that's shared illegally, and these sites are also used for legitimate, legal file sharing, you can't just block down a whole medium because part of it is used for breaking the law

ethical hacker got your profile suspended? that seems a bit much

i think Google+ is a great foundation for the platform to build off of, and i do think it will get big in the future with APIs and open signups, however if you want that actually social network where u can talk to all of your friends, that's over on facebook as of right now, Google+ isn't widely adopted and the people who do have it don't check up on it as frequent as they do facebook (because more happens on facebook)

basically the real challenge is getting all of the things people have invested into facebook transferable into Google+ (everyone's pictures, game progress, friends, etc.)

I've looked this up on the wiki, but when i try to add a domain (t02.heliohost.org) and press Add Domain from my cPanel, i get the error "Error from park wrapper: Sorry, subdomains of the hostname cannot be parked."

so what's up? do i have to buy a proper domain to park it or is this just some sort of error?

hey, i'm pretty new here, took a while to actually get access to my cpanel, but after i did it's been pretty smooth so far (except for setting up a web disk... that just didn't work for some reason, but i got filezilla set up fine)

I'm pretty much a noob here in the web hosting world, hoping to learn more about it through this site and some online websites, not really sure what i want to do with my site yet either but i guess i can just host random crap on there until i think of a real purpose for it ;p

generally just hard rock, i like some SOAD, Disturbed, Red, old Linkin Park, D.R.U.G.S., i like hard rock just i don't like constant screaming, so i like a good balance

I already have one on johnny and i'd like to set up one for stevie, i looked around and found this page telling me to request here if I can before going ahead and doing it.
