  1. Oh right were talking about in public places...one word...overload hehehe (plugs lots of high power appliances into anywhere I can find)

Haha, that reminds me: One time, when I was traveling to San Antonio, I stopped at some diner place to

get some food. Well, my phone was almost dead so I brought in my charger and just casually plugged

it into the wall. When the manager walked by he almost had a heart attack!

I don't know what a simple phone could do.

Anyway, I was wondering, if this is in a public establishment, how is it powered?

  2. Unfortunately, we're set at 8MB. 20MB is a really huge number - you're going to need a paid host if you want something like that.

Yeah, I figured. No problem - I don't have to use it; I'll just design a site based

off of a template from that system.

Haha, 20 is a lot... and it's not even the recommended!

  3. Personally, I really, really want to get a Wii. It's all about Nintendo...and the Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. (:

Have you played a Wii before?

The Wii is overrated, and falsely advertised. At first I thought the idea was cool and innovating

too, but was sadly disappointed to find that the movements of the mote were unsynchronized and

    sluggish.

I was sad to find that instead of actually swinging the mote in a desired direction to get your

characters to do something, you could just tap it on your leg, and the character would perfom

    the same action!

I felt let down for some reason.

  4. I believe PHP memory counts as normal memory. Therefore, there is a limit, because it counts as a part of your webspace. And depending on which plan you have you will have a certain limit of webspace.

No, I believe it's a different type of memory. Most hosts limit a user to 8MB-16MB of PHP memory. This

is to prevent a user from bogging down the servers and such.

The CMS I wish to run is called SilverStripe (you can google it). It's one of the nicest and most feature-rich

systems out there, however, it requires at least 20MB of PHP memory (not even including the recommended 32MB).

  5. Hey, I was wondering, do you guys have a limit set on PHP memory?

I was looking at a CMS that seems like it might be a little resource intensive.

  6. Just a joke I heard.

A guy is driving his car with a voice activated radio.

    He says "rock"

    Some rock starts playing.

    He says "techno"

    Techno plays.

He almost crashes and shouts "crap!"

    Rap starts playing.

    Another version,

He almost hits some kids and shouts "f---ing kids!"

    Michael Jackson began playing.

Sorry it's not that relevant or contributive, just something I was told.

Haha, that's cute. Have there been voice activated radios for cars around before SYNC was created?

  7. Well i think it is Halo 3. I own a Halo 3 copy and i got to say it's cool.

You can't make a choice in this pole based on the fact that Halo 3 is the only game you own! It

    doesn't make sense.

Call of Duty 4 beats Halo 3 in graphics without a doubt. Sure, more people own Halo then CoD4 but that

doesn't mean the graphics are better.

Assassins Creed is another game that beats Halo 3 when it comes to graphics. However, to compare it

to CoD4 seems hard. They are two different games in two different genres...

Assassins Creed has great graphics and so does Call of Duty 4. On the other hand, Halo 3 wins

when it comes to customization and a wide variety of fun addons (like the theater).

  8. I think it still has the same distractions as talking on a regular phone, because you're still talking and your mind is thinking about something else, besides driving. I think people should just deal with not talking on their phone when their driving, even through Sync.

As for the music capabilities, it sounds useful, but what if you don't know a specific song you want to listen to? Do they have a shuffle function through your voice? If they do, that's pretty awesome...

Hmm... I would think that if you were using your music with Sync, then you would

know what songs and their names there were...

  9. I guess it's not really "playing" the music, but I write / compose / arrange music... usually ambient-ish downtempo, but I have a wide range of musical interests. Something about downtempo just makes me feel good deep down inside. It's smooth, classy, modern, and totally countermainstream. I love it.

Well, instead of "playing" the music, do you "sing" the music you write?

I have a lot of respect for people who can legitimately write and compose music. To me it just

seems like an art that requires a rare skill to master.

  10. Well, I've known a few people to use disability software, where you have to tell the system to "wake up" first before it interprets any other commands. I'm guessing there's some sort of wake up command that won't come up often in normal conversations, like "SYNC, activate!" that gets the system ready.

(That kind of sounds like something the power rangers would say, though...) :P

But as far as programming your own voice, that's usually the first step with any voice recognition software. That way, your buddies won't keep changing the song from the back seat to annoy you.

Oh, yeah, I guess it would be pretty mandatory to have the owner program their voice...

I just remember watching the commercials on T.V. that had a car with "SYNC powered by Microsoft" and

the lady giving it commands. It looked pretty cool but I guess with all technology, there are some drawbacks.

I just read on the Microsoft SYNC website that it even translates your voice into SMS text messages for

hands-free texting... I didn't realize how much this thing can prevent accidents!

  11. Why would anyone want a coffee table which can show you pictures when you could just have the pictures on paper?

Are you kidding?! Microsoft Surface seems like the coolest thing since sliced bread!

Sure, it may be impractical for the average Joe to have in his own home, but what about

food services or hotels as shown in their promo video?

A hotel could have three or four of them in the lobby for guests to use and plan their day out on.

Higher end food establishments could replace every table with these. On the video, you can see

customers buying food, shopping for other items, and even playing with the simulated bubbles on

    the screen.

I would love to own one in my living room!

  12. I've never been in a vehicle with Sync, but it sounds like a pretty good idea. However, the speech recognition would need to be pretty decent - I can see people talking on their cellphones or to the rest of the people in their cars, and the system interpreting it as a music change request.

    "No, I didn't say 'Thriller!'"

    :D

Haha, that seems like it could be a problem...

Do you know how it works? Do you have to program your own voice, or is it truly just

    smart technology?

  13. okay i havn't played any instruments in the last 2 years. But when I was younger, i started with the recorder. Then I went to Clarinet..the I tried the guitar for like 2 months. And then I just stuck with singing. I have sung in over 2 years in front of a crowd.

That's awesome; haha, didn't everyone play the recorder when they were younger, I know I did.

As is it, I'm playing guitar at a coffee shop this upcoming Saturday, so I'm really excited!

Singing? Like in choir or in a band?

If I were to guess, it would be either a choir or solo... I don't know why though...

  14. Speaking of bad English...

The people who made my brother's wireless adapter asked the following:
