I want to close my account and delete my domain from the server. How do I terminate my account?

I'm looking in the options available in the control panel, but don't know where to go to begin creating my pages. I would like a place to insert some HTML and other code. What are the most important features to setup besides the content on my site? Security? Search Engine optimization? Etc? Pretty new to this. Thanks, let me know if you need any of my information.
