  1. This link explains the process. Just have to set the match filter to use the heliohost domain.

    So in the from section you would set:

    *heliohost.org*

    And go through the next step and set never mark as spam.

    You would create a second filter for helionet with the from section set to:

    *helionet.org*

    I also have mine set to go to a specific folder, but you wouldn't need to mess with that. Although this link covers sending emails to folders in Gmail.

  2. I don't know if this will help, but quite a while ago (before Plesk) , I had to add filters to my Gmail account using the computer to route my heliohost email into a folder. It also includes a never mark as spam.

    I have attached an image I just took. But I got my heliohost "are you ready for Plesk" and the "account successfully transferred to Plesk" email to my Gmail address with these filters in place.

    I can't see the attachment or preview this post, so I also added a drive link to the attached image.

  3. So, I waited for the migration to the plesk control panel. And I have currently been moved to the new system. I know you guys are still working on several different aspects within the next control panel. So I wanted to know if you plan on waiting until everything is finished to start monitoring for inactivity on accounts or if you have already started to deactivate accounts for inactivity? Also, is there a new donation process or link to extend the period of inactivity allowed on our account? I plan on using this site for testing to implement new features for the organization I manage, but not for a few more months.

    Thanks! And I'm very glad to see how this service survived through the cPanel situation.

  4. Saw that you've been working on the new Plesk control panel and published an ETA page. I donated last year using my paypal which is linked to an email address that I used to use for an old account on here. The paypal used was my yahoo account and the email I use for this active account is my gmail. Wanted to see if I could get that changed so when I type trenten or my gmail account into the ETA page it shows up correctly.

    the emails in question are trentenmarschel@

    currently, if I enter trenten into ETA page I get nothing. If I enter my Yahoo email, it shows up, and my Gmail email shows nothing. my gmail and "trenten" account should both be linked.

    Thanks.

  5. That's...odd. Tommy isn't showing any real load issues for the past 24 hours. When Tommy does slow down though, the SSL handshake is usually the first thing that starts hanging I've noticed. I have a few older apps running on Tommy and I've been noticing slower times the past day or so as well.

    Lets have Krydos look at it to see if he notices something I don't.

    That would be great! Glad to know it's not just me.

  6. Hi,

    I've been using Heliohost to host a college website building team project for a real client. After the semester, we plan to move the site to their own hosting site. But recently, I've noticed some loading issues. It seems that the pages get stuck on performing TLS Handshake forever. Also after uploading an edited version of either HTML or PHP files, the whole site lags like this for a while and will suddenly start working again. Is there any way to prevent this from happening or is something causing this?

    Yesterday I was coding a PHP page that takes a PayPal transaction and validates the orderID and will save it to the database. But after uploading the file, the entire site was stuck loading for hours and I finally gave up for the day.

    I'm on the Tommy server and the domain I'm working on is

    https://trenten.heliohost.org/index.htm

    Here is a screenshot from just now where I do a CTRL + F5 reload. It took over a minute to load.

  7. It was refusing because the expired certificate was not from AutoSSL. AutoSSL automatically ignores any domain that has a certificate from an outside source.

    I deleted that expired cert and manually ran it for you:

     1:58:45 PM AutoSSL’s configured provider is “cPanel (powered by Sectigo)”.
     This AutoSSL provider does not poll for certificate availability immediately after a certificate request submission. Instead, it submits certificate requests then periodically polls the cPanel Store for each requested certificate and installs it after a successful retrieval. The system will record all requests, retrievals, and installations for the current AutoSSL run in this log.

    Thanks!

    It appears everything is working now.

    Was all I had to do was confirm that deletion of the Certificate and run AutoSSL?

  8. So before I had my server moved to Tommy, I had to manually install an SSL Certificate using ZeroSSL. Now I am on Tommy and should have AutoSSL. My ZeroSSL certificate for the main trenten.heliohost.org expired a couple days ago.

    So how can I get the AutoSSL to issue a Certificate for my main domain?

    I deleted the certificate in one page and on another it says uninstall and gives a warning that this is permanent so I don't want to mess anything up. Currently I can't reach my site using https.

    Here are some screenshots of what my SSL status is.

    Deleted Old certificate.

    The SSL/TLS status page:

    post-196318-0-52732100-1609867260_thumb.jpg

    It doesn't give me the option to run AutoSSL on the domain that has the expired ZeroSSL certificate which I think I deleted as shown above.

    So any idea on how I can remove the ZeroSSL Cert and have AutoSSL issue and manage all of them?

    Thanks!

  9. Does FTPS work for you if you connect to the host tommy.heliohost.org instead of your main domain?

    Out of all the FTP, and SFTP connections I listed above that work, I can freely swap the domain names between [trenten / tommy].heliohost.org and it will work.

    It's only the FTP using TLS that doesn't work using either domain now.

    I'm using unencrypted FTP now, because when I upload something using SFTP, it makes the webpage time out for the next minute.

  10. Tommy updated his ssl certificate just a few days ago. Maybe your Filezilla doesn't like the new certificate after using the old one for the last several months? For what it's worth I can connect to Tommy with FTPS just fine.

    I had thought of that and deleted all the trusted certificates in the Filezilla xml file in the app data directory. It just asked me to trust the certificate again and timed out.

    But that explains why it was asking me to trust it again.

  11.

    What settings are you using? The correct settings are below. Please keep in mind that we don't support FTP over TLS (though it's known to sometimes work randomly), so if you're using that, it's probably why you're experiencing issues. If you're unable to use SFTP, please use "plain" (unencrypted) FTP on port 21 instead.

    SFTP host: tommy.heliohost.org
    SFTP port: 1342
    SFTP protocol: SFTP
    SFTP logon type: Normal
    SFTP Username: trenten
    SFTP password: <same as cpanel>

    Thanks.

    I was able to get both the unencrypted FTP and the SFTP to work on either domain trenten.heliohost.org or tommy.heliohost.org.

    Here was the original FTP connection I was using that has worked for months (Using TLS if available): NOT WORKING

    I believe the SFTP would be the best one to use over the unencrypted option.

    Any idea why it worked flawlessly for months using TLS until now?

  12. I checked your IP and you're not blocked in the firewall, and I checked Tommy's SFTP and was able to connect just fine. Let us know if you're still having issues. I checked the logs and Tommy had a small load spike around 00:03:00 due to creating new accounts which seems to line up with when your FTP connection timed out.

    I just tried multiple times and I still don't have working ftp access.

    Here is what I get when trying in FileZilla (nothing regarding the login has changed, it's the same one I've been using)

    And the FTP connections in cPanel:

    post-196318-0-96958200-1603552868_thumb.jpg

    After checking the FTP connection log using the cPanel file manager, This was the last successful connection I had last night.

    I was uploading a test page and the css file, and the upload timed out in the middle of the transfer and it uploaded a blank page over the existing one.

    I had to open the cPanel file manager to upload the correct one and that was the last time the FTP worked.

    I also can't connect using the FTP account for the subdomain which has a different username and password or even using an FTP app on my phone. They all time out.

    Really could use some help getting this working again.

  13. This might be fixed by tomorrow morning, but if not I figured I'd post this here encase there is an issue.

    About 30 minutes ago, all FTP access just quit working.

    Here's what I get in FileZilla.

    post-196318-0-85791000-1603499027_thumb.jpg

    And when I check active FTP connections in cPanel I get this.

  14. I just tested the password requirements for the forum login with my old account, and I can confirm pretty much EVERYTHING works.

    Here are the specifications for what worked:

    Character Requirements:
    & = works
    ! = works
    + = works
    @ = works
    # = works
    $ = works
    % = works
    ^ = works
    * = works
    ( = works
    ) = works
    - = works
    _ = works
    = = works
    [ = works
    ] = works
    { = works
    } = works
    < = works
    > = works
    , = works
    . = works
    ? = works
    : = works
    ; = works
    ' = works
    " = works
    / = works
    \ = works
    | = works
    ` = works
    ~ = works

    Length Requirements:
    Works with 1 - 600+ characters (with mixed special characters)

    So the only reason I can think of why it didn't work when it first set up the forum account is there might be some issue with migrating the password with special characters from cPanel to the forum accounts.

    It could possibly be dropping special characters or replacing them or quoting the whole password string.

    I don't know, but either way, once you reset the forum password, there are really no restrictions at all.

  15. The reason mysqlclient is so much faster is because it's written in C and then compiled into an executable. Mysql-connector is 100% python so it is much slower.

    Here is a link I found that may help. I haven't read through it completely myself so I don't know if they will answer your questions for sure. I did notice it mentions cursors though.

    https://mysqlclient.readthedocs.io/

    Thanks for all your help!

    I was able to get it to work very similar to how I had it before. It was with how I was importing MySQLdb. I was only importing the _mysql module.

    Now I can use the cursor object, and no need to decode byte literals or anything. Now it's working perfectly. Thanks again.

  16. I actually intended to only install mysqlclient on all of our servers as it has the highest performance https://stackoverflow.com/a/46396881/2336864 I'm not even sure how mysql-connector got installed. It must have been a dependency of something else and I didn't notice.

    If it's really 10 times faster, then you can't really argue with that.

    I'm sure I just need to do some more research, but the annoying part of using the mysqlclient is for some reason it keeps returning all my VARCHAR objects as a byte literal like below:

    name as byte literal: b'joe'

    name as byte literal: b'bob'

    name as byte literal: b'Alex'

    In order to make it output it as a string, which the mysql-connector did by default, I have to do this:

    for row in results:
        id = row["id"].decode("UTF-8") #have to add .decode("UTF-8") at end of every object I want as a string.
        # using str(id) still outputs as a byte literal with the 'b in front of string.
        name = row["name"].decode("UTF-8")
        state = row["state"].decode("UTF-8")
        print( "id: "+id+" name: " + name + " state: " +state )
        print("<br>")
    #

    Maybe someone has some idea how to fix this when I'm making the connection to the db. I see something in the documentation about converter, but haven't found a detailed explanation on how to use it or if it would even work to convert VARCHAR to python string.

    Not to mention, many of the mysqlclient python tutorials I've found are using the Cursor object, which doesn't work with mysqlclient.

    Also with mysql-connector I was able to elegantly use a for loop to access the results in a dictionary like this.

    for (id, name, state) in results:
        print("id: "+str(id)+" name: " + name + " state: " +state+"<br>")
    #

    Hopefully I can figure out how to do that with mysqlclient.

    Before, I was unable to test mysqlclient in either windows or CygWin terminal because it wanted Visual Studio Build tools installed.

    So I tried that and still didn't work, but I was able to install it using a prebuilt binary wheel.

    So now I can hopefully figure things out without having to test it on the server by constantly uploading files via FTP and reloading the python script.

  17. Yes, if the certificate is deleted autossl will issue a new one for you. It can sometimes take up to 24 hours to run. If it still isn't working after 24 hours let us know and we can take a look.

    Thanks!

    Also I just noticed one of the python scripts that I planned on using to make Admin reports from the MySQL database is no longer working.

    It looks like it's because the python3 mysql-connector v: 2.2.9 is not installed.

    Just took a few hours, but I was able to get it to work using mysqlclient package.

    Is there any chance to get the mysql-connector package on Tommy? It seems much easier to work with.

  18. You're on Tommy now. I have increased your storage to the maximum, and you don't need to log in to cpanel to keep your account active until 2021-04-12. Let us know if there is anything else we can help you with. Thank you so much for your donation!

    Thanks!

    I had previously installed ZeroSSL certificates when I was on Johnny. Now that I can use AutoSSL, what do I need to do to have my main domain use AutoSSL? Do I just need to delete the old one and then will the SSL/TLS Status page give me the option to renew using AutoSSL?

  19. You can really use any of the methods since you already have an account. Upgrades and moves are a manual process that requires a support post and admin assistance, so it doesn't matter which one you use.

    The only thing that the Tommy link does differently is that it automatically sends an invite if you don't already have an account associated with the email on your paypal account. If you already have such an account, it won't send anything and is effectively identical to the other donation methods.

    Our current fundraiser can be found here.

    That's actually rather helpful. If I use my PayPal, it uses my yahoo email which I have an old account on here from 2017. My old username is trentenm. That account was just used to host a remote MySQL database. This account is using my Gmail address. Is there any way you could just delete my trentenm account. I've tried to reactivate it a few times, but was never able to log in and now I have this account. I'll probably do the donation today and post a move request later.
