  1. I tried to ftp into the server today (ftp.drtux.net) but it only would work for a few seconds after logging in and logging in would take a long time. Not sure where the problem is but I can't ftp in at all or access files through cpanel file browser any more. It's just stuck on "fetching directory contents".
  2. Yes I understood you but it does not work with the instructions for linux as detailed for nautilus in cPanel>WebDisk>Connect.
  3. Thanks for your response. You are right, this has nothing to do with ubuntu. The fact that ftp works fine means that this is a server side issue and the fact that it times out for exactly 15 minutes is even more proof of this. It is a reproduceable problem so I wanted someone to poke around while the problem is happening or look at internal logs not available to me. This is not a Ubuntu/OS issue, it's server-side and can only be fixed in the server. Thanks for looking into this problem as it's very annoying to say the least. Also, if WebDisk is no longer supported, shouldn't be removed from cPanel?
  4. Can we focus on this reproducable issue please? Bluefish is pointed at an ftp directory for it's upload/download functions that is mounted/maintained by ubuntu/nautilus file manager. Also I tried webdisk again using nautilus instructions and opened ports 2077-2078 but I still get Could not display "https://drtux.net:2078". Access was denied. dialog popup when trying to access webdisk using the nautilus instructions from cpanel>webdisk
  5. Thanks for your replies Byron. The problem seems to happen after I use the upload or download functions in bluefish (I am using ubuntu 10.10) but the error log is completely empty. UPDATE: It seems it doesn't like bluefish uploading/downloading the entire directory contents. While it is in this defunct state, all php files are broken as well. Further, it 'times out' in this state for exactly 15 minutes before working again, according to my tests. This is a problem because WebDisk is broken and I need a way to conveniently sync the files locally on my machine. So far bluefish has proven to be the most qualified to do this but it breaks php for 15 minutes at a time. If you would like me to reproduce this problem, perhaps conversing with a more real-time medium such as IRC would be of benefit. I can set up a room on freenode or come to wherever you guys are.
  6. Who are you talking to, which domain specifically and what does 'un-registered' mean in this context?
  7. I am trying to use this host and I am relatively new to web development. Now I have discovered php but it's proving to be extremely difficult to make work on this server because about 95% of the time, it gives Internal Server Error for any .php file (even empty ones). I don't know what's going on but can you guys fix it? I'd like to use this host since I've already invested time in it but I really need the server to actually work too.. Thanks, Scott
  8. I don't know what you're talking about headers and footers but I'm new to php and this problem is giving me a MAJOR issue. One second, test.php works with <?php phpinfo(); ?> in it. The next second, it does not work but gives Internal Server Error. This happens after clearing cache, it even happens with an empty index.php file. I have no clue what's wrong but I think it's the file encoding since I use ubuntu linux. Please fix this issue! I cannot work with this intermittent problem. As it stands right now, it's just giving Internal Server Error and I can't get it to work again. Now it's working again. No idea what's going on here. It works, then I wait and reload after awhile, it works only about 5% of the time then it just fails with Internal Server Error and I didn't even change anything. Can you please fix it? I really wanted to use this host but with python2.4 and php working only 5% of the time and no shell access, it's not proving to be an enjoyable experience.
  9. Hi all, I am relatively new tot his forum so I hope I am posting this thread in the right place. I was learning about python as well as heliohost capabilities and noticed that python is version 2.4. One of the requirements to use flask is at least python 2.5. I was wondering if there's any way you guys can possibly update this or if there are any plans to in the near future? Please let me know as I would like to see this great host become even better! Thanks in advance, Scott My account info: login: mrscottm domain: drtux.net
  10. Hi all, this is my first time posting on the forums. I've had this heliohost account for a couple months now, user: mrscottm domain:drtux.net and I have been trying to get Web Disk to work with nautilus running Ubuntu without success. I put https://drtux.net:2078/ in the nautilus location bar but I receive the error in a dialog box: 'Could not display "https://drtux.net:2078". Error: HTTP Error: Cannot connect to destination. Please select another viewer and try again.' I have forwarded ports 2077 and 2078 but I still get the same message. Is there anything else I can do to try and get this working or should I just use ftp?
