  1. Note: bigger sized plugins cause more load. if you want to reduce the load on your account, try to use smaller plugins.

Not sure its the size of the plugin that makes a difference.

I can use plugins that are huge but sit idle until I manually executed them and small plugins that run constantly, increasing load and getting you suspended.

In my experience, I disabled all my plugins and my load was STILL through the roof. I came thisclose to getting suspended.

So, in all actuality, Wordpress IS a bad idea.

  2. Your account was suspended because Wordpress is causing too much load. I have unsuspended your account, but please try to limit the load you put on our servers as it slows down not only your site, but the sites of all other HelioHost users sharing your server.

This is really common for Wordpress. It can cause massive amounts of load even if you're hardly getting any traffic to your site. Wordpress is also incredibly insecure and very easy to hack. We see Wordpress accounts get hacked all the time and usually the hacker sets up a phishing site on your domain. We strongly recommend using any software other than Wordpress.

Something that might help is this simply static Wordpress plugin. It will speed up your site, reduce the load you cause, and reduce your chance of getting hacked. If you try it let us know how it worked out for you.

If you insist on using Wordpress you might want to consider purchasing a VPS instead. VPS hosting gives you an entire virtual server to yourself, including no load limits, a dedicated IP address, and full root access. Wordpress sites load relatively slowly on our shared hosting, but they will be much faster on a VPS.

  3.

What is your new domain that you recently changed and I’ll take a look in my end for you

The new primary domain that I entered is blueyeskeleton.heliohost.us
When using the domain change script, did you put your username, password and new domain (in that order) inside the provided fields?

I took a look, and that specific domain does not exist.

Edit: please let us know if the above script works.

If not, you can go here: http://www.heliohost.org/scripts/domain.php

  4. Wordfence is one of the worst offenders in terms of making WP too heavy (woocommerce is probably the other bad one we see most). My first recommendation beyond just dropping WP entirely would be to uninstall wordfence.

I have experimented with wp and firewalls cause the most load. Jetpack causes a ton of load too. I would highly recommend moving away from wp and trying out Sitepad instead. You can use it for free, but premium Sitepad gets you more themes and support directly from them

  5.

Git is available in Tommy and Johnny's cpanel, and will be available on Ricky too once we rebuild him. Ricky's rebuild was scheduled for February or so of this year, but it got delayed because it's not safe to travel during a pandemic and we can't get anyone to the datacenter to do the required work. Once we can get someone to the datacenter rebuilding Ricky will be our top priority because he's long overdue for it. In the meantime we recommend moving to Tommy if you need git. Keep in mind that ssh access is disabled for all of our shared hosting because it is too much of a security risk so you won't be able to view clone urls even if you switch servers.

For full access to git functionality we recommend getting a VPS where you will have root access to the entire server to run any commands such as git that you want. Now is a great time to sign up for a VPS because we're having a sale that will only last until we reach the goal of our fundraiser. With any VPS subscription you get an extra 1 GB memory for free, and if you signup for 6 months you can get 10% off as well. So you can get 2GB memory, 2 CPUs, and 50 GB hard drive for only $3.60 per month for 6 months. That's an amazing deal. https://www.heliohost.org/vps/

As far as autossl, it can take up to 24 hours for a new domain to get secured. How long ago did you add that domain? If it's been more than 24 hours we can take a closer look.

    Hi Admin,

Thank you for the quick response.

Can you please transfer this to Tommy server then please? I need git only to get files from my GitHub repo. Because all the website files are being updated there.

Also, the I added the domain less than 24 hours. I will be waiting for the SSL.

    Thank you.

Admins can move you if you donate $1.

Otherwise you need to take a backup, download it, delete your account and wait until midnight UTC to sign up again on Tommy

    :)

  6. The additional accounts section is only for creating an email, FTP, and webdisk users. You can't log in to cpanel with those. Say you have several domains like bluecdn.com and blueforums.com and you want to grant someone access to bluecdn.com but not the forums you could create a user for them and set their root to /home/rakinar5/public_html/bluecdn.com/. That way they could log in with FTP or webdisk and change the files, and they could also have a @bluecdn.com email address, but they wouldn't have any access to the blueforums.com website.

    I told him this yesterday.

  7.

On October 29 the server caught you with 330 connections open at once, and blocked you in the firewall for an attempted DoS attack. I have unblocked you but please limit the number of connections you open to the server.

Don't you really think if it's an anomaly in your system when you write something like this here?
Could this be a consequence of the corona? Or You really don't think at all nothing. It's nonsense, Dear General.

The system caught corona? Oh dear, the poor servers! Get a ventilator, quick! We're loosing him! Johnny! NO! Don't leave us!

  8. Yeah, your load looks great, Jenova! On memory you're #82 for today, #45 yesterday, and #137 the day before. On cpu you're #62 today, #32 yesterday, and #125 the day before. The bigger the number the better. So, basically no load at all even though you're running wordpress.

I noticed one reason for load is firewall plugins. I ran some security software and easily hit 100% within the first 30 minutes of it being installed. Seems like they run processes in the background even when idle, increasing the load drastically.

  9. We got some feedback from another user who tried that plugin. Apparently it hasn't been maintained in a while and only works with wordpress 4.9 or older. The other user said wordpress was on version 5.5 or so now. If you find another static site converter that does the same thing that works on recent versions of wordpress let us know.

And unless your plugins are not compatible, you can use ClassicPress plugin to convert your WP site to a 4.9 fork of WP that has alot of bloat taken out.

I use it myself, i never get hit with high load issues.

  10. You can support our service improvement and get a VPS if you sign up for 6 months of service.

To help get donations to our fundraiser we're offering a 10% discount when you pay through gofundme for your VPS for 6 months. We're also offering an extra 1 GB of memory with any purchase so you can get 2 GB memory, 2 CPUs, and 50 GB hard drive for only $21.60 for 6 months. That ends up being only $3.60 per month. That deal is only good until we reach the goal of the fundraiser so it's a great time to sign up.

This is actually quite a good deal too.

Since 2GB of ram already increases the price to $7/m, you're getting less then base price a month WITH the 2GB of ram, for 6 months.

If I didnt already have a vps, I would have come back and bought this one, no doubts.

  11.

I get my numbers from cPanel, and cPanel gets their numbers from the command line tool named top, and top gets its number from the OS directly. Feel free to submit a bug report to cPanel or top or CentOS if you think their tools aren't working correctly.

Even though we've told you this has nothing to do with bandwidth multiple times you still keep bringing up bandwidth for some reason. I could write a php script with less than 10 lines of code that uses 1 GB of memory for the maximum execution time of 60 seconds, and then only send 5 bytes of bandwidth. I would top the charts on memory usage easily, but hardly have any bandwidth. For the last time bandwidth is not why you're being suspended. Memory usage is.

Well, it seems like there's no point in even trying to talk to you about something when you talk like that.

The funniest part about this is that you recommend:

"Feel free to submit a bug report to cPanel or top or CentOS if you think their tools aren't working correctly."

You probably didn't even realize I didn't have access to cpanel ????

So far no ac cess anywhere because everything has been blocked.

I wonder how I can write something there or watch something from there if don't have access already about week or more???

And one more thing - look what's here - only Suspended, Suspended, Suspended, no access, Error 500, etc.

This is the only place that is not blocked. Even the email you have blocked !!!

Sorry, I forgot. On October 28th I got about 5 min to be on cpanel and then it was all over again.

Why are you trying to login from port 2083? Lol.

You should be logging in here: https://heliohost.org/login

If anything, access should not depend on whether or not they give you access, but if your ISP grants you access. It is not rare that an ISP will block access to websites in spite.

Please try clearing your caches, rebooting your computer, checking your router and contacting your ISP to see if it is something on their end.

  12. It'll be better off done on your PC. While we are lax about VPS use, I could see mining on one causing server impact.

Easiest is to pick a pool and just follow their get started section. Use our wallet address when setting it up. Most miners are just command line apps, and the better ones like xmrig and Stak will do most of the configuration themselves. You just tell it the pool, wallet, and algorithm, it'll figure out the processor and gpu stuff.

I've debated resurrecting the Windows miner (which did all the above for you), but the lack of uptake and earnings the first time around makes me feel like I'd be wasting my time. We would come out ahead of heliomine's performance by me just donating $75 and picking up an extra shift at work to earn the money back, and I can do it in 1 day vs. over a year. :P

True. This would be on a VPS not related to HelioHost and since it would be running 24/7 I would be able to just let it do what it does. Otherwise computer mining would impact my gaming and work as an indie game dev. I am trying to find the best way of donating to you guys without spending money as its tight rn until I get my job back up and running.

  13. I haven't found a good alternative for browser mining that has decent performance (and doesn't light up every adblocker and antivirus known to man...). Any recommendations?

The current recommended crypto mining method is to download your choice of miner and mine directly into our wallets. A list of our addresses can be found at https://heliohost.org/donate/ When the Heliomine miner was around, we primarily mined on the Mine2Gether pools, so using those pools will contribute to the completion of any partial payouts that were never completed :)

TRTL and LOKI are the two best suited for standard PC mining, however XMR is an option if you have a high-end rig or perhaps an extra server laying around.

Well, I was going to use my computer to mine and donate once I did. Seems like I should be using my VPS but most tutorials are complex. Not exactly sure how to set this up...
