  1. A few questions.

Does Heliohost support Brotli compression? I couldn't get it to work.

How do I change the gzip compression level? I tried setting DeflateCompressionLevel in htaccess but it gives me an internal server error.

Is there a way to serve extensionless files as php? I tried SetHandler, ForceType, etc... Everything causes the files to be downloaded by the browser instead of parsed by the server.

Does Ricky have Http/2 support? Is it likely to be added in the future?

    Thank you.

  2. Dear Heliohost Team,

I would appreciate if you could un-archive my account. It was archived due to inactivity. I've maintained sites here for about a decade now, and I'm very sorry about missing the deadline to log in. Thank you for understanding.

  3. The username was sdk. I just went ahead and made a new username for an account on Johnny, but now Johnny is down too. Now my domain name is tied up. Is it possible to have the domain “superdreamkilla” deleted from Johnny so I can try and start over once again? Thanks again.

  4. I had an old account on Stevie before it crashed. I'd like to start again on Tommy or Ricky, but couldn't log in with my old username and password. I selected reset password, and entered my old email address, and there was no record of it. So I signed up again from scratch. But then when I tried to select my old username, it said it was taken. I doubt it really was and suspect it's just still there left over from before. What should I do? Maybe an admin can walk me through getting back to where I was? Thanks.

  5. I'm not sure. I had signed up a long time ago and things were always getting changed around.

I was finally able to sign up for a new account, on Stevie, and an hour later I received the following email:

    Dear sdk,

Your hosting account at HelioHost has encountered an error during installation. The error is:

Sorry, a DNS entry for [MY SUBDOMAIN].heliohost.org already exists, please delete it first (from all servers in the dns cluster)

Please visit http://www.heliohost.org/scripts/signup.php and try to signup again.

    Regards,

    HelioHost Staff

What is all this? My old subdomain still exists? How am I supposed to delete it? There are no instructions! As I already stated in the OP, my username did "not exist in the database". I'd like to just have my old account back, but I'm not sure what's going on. I signed up for a new account yet again, with a different subdomain, just for now. Please advise.

  6. I believe I did. It's possible I'm mistaken. I don't know how to check. I thought inactivity was supposed to result in suspension, not deletion, anyway.

I've been trying to sign up for a new account, but there are never any slots. As a "returning customer", can I get fast tracked, to the stevie server?

    Thanks.

  7. I attempted to log into cpanel and I received an error message along the lines of "That name does not exist in our database". My website has been down for a few days but of course I have no way of knowing if that's due to a server not serving, or if my account was deleted for some reason. I've been using my website regularly and have received no emails of notification of anything. What happened?

    My username was sdk.

  8. I had just signed up. My site went down within hours of signing up. It's been down for the past 3 days now. Heliohost made no announcement of this. Heliohost sent no notifications. I made a forum post already and no one would tell me when I could expect my site to be back up again.

I used to use x10 hosting. They decided to suddenly and secretly kill perl/cgi function (and of course, not tell anyone).

I've tried about 10 other webhosts, all of which were total frauds who flat out lie about having perl/cgi function and other services.

Are there any decent free webhosts out there?
